It is most likely the last stage, the embassy won't request for fresh medical and passport if they weren't ready to issue your visa, so My advice is, hurry up and schedule your medical then send in your passport,  Good luck.

It wouldn't make sense for them to have you complete a new medical if they weren't going to issue you a visa. Why put an applicant through that exercise? Just not productive. Get your medical done and submit your passport. You're on your way to getting a new visa. Safe travels.

I hope you hear some good news and you get your visa soon. We have also been in administrative processing for the last 19 months. We also received an email from the embassy for a second interview. I hope we can all hear some good news after all this waiting and heartache

My husband had his first interview April 2019 we’ve been in AP since then also were given ds5535, and case showed “refused” were asked to come for second interview July 2020 and were told to submit new passport and medical via courier. Everything was sent and 2 days ago my husband received a call from the embassy to verify phone numbers and asked what documents were submitted and if there were any original documents at the embassy the gentleman on the phone stated they are passing documents over to consular officer and case changed to administrative processing and date updated

Any dates that change is a good sign as someone is touching your record. When you see it go from "immigrant" to "non-immigrant" than you are almost there with the visa issuing shortly. So, keep your eyes open on ceac.
