Ok I'm having a hard time on figuring what's going on I received my NO2 on 3/25/2020 I keep calling the nvc and I recieved my case number and invoice number from an operator but the operator keeps telling me I won't receive my NO2 welcome package because the Manila embassy isn't accepting any files my NVC letter is now expired but I see here on this forum some people have interview dates and are getting medical exams done

You should be in the following thread.  The people getting interviews and medicals are people whose approved petitions were sent to the embassies.  Those approved petitions have not been mailed abroad while embassies and consulates have been closed.  Once your embassy/consulate opens for "routine visa services" it should be mailed.   Other people that follow Philippines may provide more context for your situation.

First mistake is you are comparing your case with others. They are not the same including embassies. Each embassy will open when they are ready not when you are. The best place for you to be is in the PI sub-forum. The sub-forum for the Philippines here on VJ is where you should be a part of the conversation. It's a good place to read what others are experiencing which will better prepare you for your interview.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/129-philippines/

Second mistake is that you are not connected to your embassy's website for the most current information.

Can I share somethings with you that I learned long ago about this process?

    • "the man with the gold makes the rules"
    • it will take as long as it will take
    • no one with any certainty can tell you when some process will be completed
    • Your sense of urgency will never be equaled to what USCIS, NVC or your embassy demonstrates
    • Your journey is not going to mirror someone else's experience - yours and theirs are not the same
    • They only promised you a YES or NO answer. Never an exact time that their decision would be completed
    • Lowering your expectations will make you a much more relaxed individual

When you move over to the link that @MJ&YY provided download the PDF from the first page first post which will give you more insight on what to expect during the NOA2 stage. Read the entire thread where we speak about the same issues you present here in your diatribe.

Sorry but I don't sugarcoat my answers. I don't like dancing around an issue.

Good luck on your journey.

Greenbaum,

thank you so much for your links and information.

I am a little confused about one thing.  I updated the email addresses as you suggested but is there anything else I need to do after that?

and do we wait to apply for the Ds160 until after we get our case number?  Thanks in advance for all you do.

Ok. I read your packet again and you clearly say - once you have your case number - we can complete the DS-160.  Só it can take up to 5 weeks to get the case number and that is what we are now waiting for, right?

Once you have the case number and updated your email then you can now complete your DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application

Yes, normally it takes four to 6 weeks to receive the case number. Calling before that time will only tie up the telephone lines but you'll get the same answer. "your mileage may vary"

@Greenbaum Can you explain the step of "updating" your email address with the NVC? The term "updating" implies that they already have it, but that I'm just updating it. Is that correct?

I do want to receive notification when they receive my case, but I want to make sure that I am not bothering the NVC by contacting them when it's not necessary. They said on their website to only contact them for important purposes. If I do nothing, will they let me know via email when it's received?

By updating you are giving information as how to locate you and the beneficiary when your case number is assigned. NVC is like any other entity in this process, sometimes you will hear from them and sometimes you will not (through email, snail mail yes). Anything that is contained in the PDF is always at your option to do or not do. I just make the information available. I update when you or others opine that this or that is or is not working. Thanks for your support. Good luck and stay engaged.
