You can try to ask for an emergency interview, no hurt to try but it does not necessarily mean they will issue you the visa due to APs, background check...

If the US sponsor has Covid-19, do we qualify for an emergency interview?

or is this grounds to be considered for an emergency interview?

Why would it?  If the US sponsor is acutely ill with COVID, their care would be provided in a hospital setting anyway.

Doesn't hurt to try.

In my opinion, it could hurt to try - Hypothetically, and worst case scenario - The sponsor is eventually signing for financial responsibility for the intended immigrant for 10 years.  A sponsor with Covid could be impacted, in the worst possible way, from fulfilling that requirement... where would that leave the immigrant?  Without a sponsor?

We had our expedite granted because I was scheduled for hernia surgery. I just had to submit a letter from my doctor verifying my diagnosis and that I needed to have surgery as soon as possible. It took about 2 weeks to approve.

Except in this case the USC would have to be in quarantine. You would or should I say not supposed to be anywhere near him/her.
