Congratulations!! What field office are you?

Buffalo, NY. I was freaking out and trying to figure out why my biometrics weren't applied to my i765 and i131. Now I'm just happy to see things are moving along way faster than I expected!

That’s awesome! Any updates on the medical?

They haven't requested anything from me, and I don't think they should because I filed within one year or my k1 medical completed in Canada. I have a copy of the form the doctor gave me which should be good.

I'll update here if they request anything when I get the official notice

We were finally blessed with some positive experience in our journey last week.

We had our AOS interview in the Pittsburgh Office and my wife and step daughter were approved on March 25th. The case status went to new card being produced and then changed to Case Approved.  Our AP and EA cases were cancelled as a result of the 485 approval.  There had been no updates on those cases since the October 2020 biometrics. They must be really backlogged in those.

We were very fortunate, the Officer conducting our interview was professional, courteous and considerate.

The interview basically consisted of him having a conversation with us about our lives the past few years.  None of the questioning I've seen so many post about.  The only questions he did ask were those of a national security nature that are on the 485, and those are mandatory things they are required to ask under oath. I wrote more about the interview on our timeline.

I sincerely hope that each of you still engaged in the process have the same experience at your interview as we did.

Godspeed for quick and positive results for all of you.

Woo Hoo! I'm glad you had your interview and it went well. I was following your case as you posted and I'm glad to see everything turned out great for you. I'm waiting on my interview date and am hoping for as smooth an experience as yours!

Hi

I need your opinion urgently. I applied for I-485 (Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status), I-765 (Application for Employment Authorization), Form I-131 (Application for Travel Document) on July 15, 2020. My eligibility is based on the family-based based category as the spouse of  a US Citizen. I received NOA acknowledging the receipts of these forms in 2 weeks. Since then, there is no update on my case. When I check the status of applications, I see the following:

I-485

Fingerprint Fee Was Received

On August 11, 2020, we accepted the fingerprint fee for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status.

I-765

Case Was Received

On July 20, 2020, we received your Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization

I-131

Case Was Received

On July 20, 2020, we received your Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization

I have not received any request for fingerprint appointment. I believe this is not normal.  What should I do now? I appreciate your opinion.

Also, do we need to give fingerprint for advance parole? Can the advanced parole be issued without fingerprints?

Thank you.

I think it’s pretty normal, I have a similar timeline to yours and just had my biometrics appointment March 19. (Buffalo, NY)It may be coming soon!

Depending on your ASC, once you get you biometrics the process may speed up!

We filed in June but our NOA is July 7th and we're just notified of our interview for May 6th. We are still working on her vaccines as some of them require 3 injections to be complete. What is the general thinking for this?

Do you have a copy of her DS-3025, DOS Vaccination Documentation Worksheet? https://www.uscis.gov/policy-manual/volume-8-part-b-chapter-3

K or V Nonimmigrants Applying for Adjustment [26]

K and V nonimmigrants applying for adjustment of status are not required to repeat the medical examination if the application was filed within one year of the date of the original medical examination, and:

  • The medical examination did not reveal a Class A medical condition; or

  • The applicant received a conditional waiver in conjunction with the K or V nonimmigrant visa or the change of status to V and the applicant submits evidence of compliance with the waiver terms and conditions. [27]

If a new medical examination is required and reveals a Class A medical condition, a new waiver application will also be required. In such cases, the officer should determine whether the applicant complied with the terms and conditions of the first waiver, if applicable. Such determination should be given considerable weight in the adjudication of a subsequent waiver application. [28]

Even if a new medical examination is not required, applicants must still comply with the vaccination requirements if the vaccination record was not included as part of the original medical examination report. If the vaccination report was properly completed at the time of the overseas examination, the officer may accept the vaccination assessment completed by the panel physician.

An applicant’s overseas medical examination report completed by a panel physician should already be in the applicant’s A-file. If it is not in the A-file, the officer should request the medical examination report through a Request for Evidence (RFE).

Ahh right. I tried updating our timeline a whole back and it kept crapping the bed. She did have a medical in Japan for our original K1 but we adjusted from the VWP due to her getting stuck here on a visit over the Pandemic. We received a letter saying that a i693 was required and not to send it until the interview date was issued. We have been working in getting her all required vaccines already but she needs a few more and will be 1 short by then.

There is a Blanket Waiver so she should go to the Civil Surgeon visit soon: https://www.cdc.gov/immigrantrefugeehealth/civil-surgeons/vaccinations.html

the applicant can still be considered to have completed the US status adjustment vaccination requirements by means of a Blanket Waiver.

  • Insufficient time interval between doses
If the minimum time interval between the last documented dose and the next required dose has not passed, the “Insufficient time interval” reason should be documented.
If administration of a single dose of vaccine at the time of the medical examination does not complete the series for that vaccine, the “Insufficient time interval to complete series” reason should be documented to indicate that additional doses will be needed to complete the series for that vaccine.  This reason can also be used if a live vaccine has recently been administered and another live vaccine is needed, but sufficient time has not passed.

Great, thanks so much. I did notice this change on the USCIS site when I looked for local doctors. Is this new or did I somehow miss it in the past? Can I really use our insurance now to have the cost of this covered?

"Medical insurance card (check with the doctor’s office to make sure the office accepts your medical plan)"

Not to ask for too much but wasn't there a thread around here with civil surgeons by location and what they charge?
