From FB, more people got interviews scheduled in Indonesia and Togo for spouses. Let's hope we continue to hear more good news everyday.

FB group. No embassy has officially stated anything

I didn't save the posts. However in the CR and National Visa Center Stage Facebook groups, one person posted her interview letter from Indonesia. At the same time, another poster said they have an interview in Togo embassy in July and also one noted they have one next week in Senegal. You can believe it or not. By the way, Togo's official embassy page says they are processing immigrant visas except K-1s and DVs. Check for yourself.

By the way, there have been many posters here on VJ that have received appointments for cr or ir1s since mid last week (Poland, Indonesia, France, Jamaica, Vietnam, UAE,  Pakistan) expedited or regular that was postponed previously due to C-19. Yet, we have only seen 3 updates on embassy websites-Vietnam, Jamaica, Togo. So you would be wrong to think that no official update on an Embassy site means that they are not starting to process mission critical visas.

Has anyone done interview waiting for passport in Nigeria on this forum?

If waiting for passport means waiting for approval and issuance of visas on passports already with USEmb Lagos, then yes. Seems quite a lot of people are at that stage. Most of the interviews were in January, February and even up to mid-March.

Yesterday I sent a expedited request to the embassy and NVC. This morning I got an email from the embassy saying that

Thank you for your message. As of March 16, the United States Embassy in Algeria cancelled all routine visa services and is currently only providing emergency services for U.S. citizens. As the situation with the COVID-19 outbreak continues to develop, we are working to return to normal operations as quickly as possible, but are unable to provide a specific date at this time. It’s frustrating to just wait. Started the whole process august 29/ 2017.

After we have returned to normal operations, please email us again with your contact information and information about your situation and we will respond as soon as possible.

So sorry to hear that, and yes it’s a real frustration 😞 hopefully they will be back to business by July,

I’ve contacted the US embassy in Algeria few days ago, and they said, they have no exact date,

we keep praying, and hope for the best.

good luck,

Got this msg earlier from the Rio consulate in Brazil - doesn't seem like they're scheduling ANY interviews right now...

Seal with white background

Health Alert – U.S. Embassy Brasilia, Brazil (June 19, 2020)

Location: Brazil

Event: Health Alert

The U.S. Embassy and Consulates General in Brazil continue to offer only emergency services for U.S. citizens in Brazil. Routine services not related to safety, such as passport renewals without imminent travel and notarial services, are not considered emergencies and will not be scheduled at this time. We will resume operations in phases as global conditions evolve. Monitor our social media and website for information about when services resume.

We got an email when we were DQ'ed in April saying they would work with the Consulate to get us an interview date and let us know.

Yeah - I got that as well. I was wondering if they tell you when your case is sent to the consulate or if the next piece of communication we get is for the interview itself
