American flying to Philippines

This is a small step but hopefully in the right direction, this does not mean the flood gates have opened just a small crack in the door to see how it goes.  2 to 5 day quarantine while they await test results.

My wife one sister was suppose to get 8000 peso from the government due to her being mental and physical condition, she has the mentality of a 8 year old and has a hard time walking. Plus she has to be on meds or she gets seizures, and of course the meds are expensive.

She was denied any government aid/money due to a few reasons:  She lives in beautiful house, the home has a nice gate, one of her sisters lives in USA, another one owns a business in the hometown.

We guess the Barangay Capt and Mayor made this decision, and I am sure they will split the money coming from the Philippines Government.   The house is normal looking middle class home, gate looks normal to me, and the sister business is a Siomai cart, not really a business if you ask me.

I guess they don't have test for immediate results in Philippines?

It's a step in right direction, but no foreigner would go for this.  No way I am getting stuck in a 3rd world hospital

It's not so bad if you go to a private hospital, I got stuck in one for a few days last year.  Just stay away from the public hospitals there, those are scary.

They are rejecting aid all over the Philippines if the family has a member living abroad.

Not a newbie but lost my old info years ago) I have been through this process before --all the way through naturalization-- This site has always been a great help to me.

What @boris64 said is true... The same thing happened to my 67 year old MIL and my SIL even though her husband is in Dubai with no job right now

My buddy lost his left pinky finger and some of his hand from an infection he got in Cebu years ago, he eventually had to fly back to Australia to get the proper meds to stop the infection, Cebu hospitals couldn't help him.

Well it's official:

American Airlines just called be to inform me by flight on June 8th has been cancelled. I was offered refund or a to reschedule. I took the refund since who knows when international Flights to and from PI to USA will ever resume again.

As of now I am feeling rather confident my flight in there in late August will be completed.

When did American start serving the Philippines?

YMMV

Travel Partner of Japan Airlines

Dallas to Japan on AA, and then switch to Japan Airlines for the flight into and out of Philippines.

It the best and shortest flight from my area, and only one rather short layover.
