Any U.S. Montreal Consulate Updates?

Has anyone gotten an email or an update about interviews or case statuses recently from the Montreal Embassy? Our K-1 case was last updated March 16th and haven’t heard anything since they’ve closed. I’m just trying to get a feel for when they will reopen. Much appreciated!

Nothing yet for CR1/IR1 either. Quebec is looking to start lifting some restrictions on May 4th so hopefully by the end of May or sometime in June they'll be operating again (take that with a grain of salt though as all we can do is guess at this point).

Nothing on my end either but I was happy to see that May date that you had stated. Guess we will see what happens but I am defiantly crossing my fingers for June at the latest.

Very encouraged by today's news that daycares and elementary schools are planning to open May 11th/19th (Quebec/Montreal) depending on how case numbers go. It's a huge step towards reopening and I hope it is successful.

My CEAC was last updated in 3/18 and nothing so far.

 

I have emailed them two, three weeks ago, and they said embassy is not issuing any new visas at the moment.

 

Our interview is already done, so I'm hoping they would send out the visa before they start doing in person services.

 

I expected (hoped) they will start opening first or second week of may but looks like it might take awhile.

 

I will let you guys know as soon as I hear anything.

None on my front. I had directly asked them what phase of DOS reopening they’re in and didn’t get anything except a generic answer. So for all intensive purposes MTL is still nowhere near regular Visa processing services.

I believe some embassies (Jamaica, Ukraine, UK etc.) are saying IR1/CR1 is included in mission critical and are scheduling interviews in limited capacities. I hope MTL is not far behind given the cases in Canada are no where near UK's. Fingers crossed!

Our case was updated with all docs, forms, and fees received and approved by the Montreal consulate on Jan 29th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Still no appointment!!!!!!

That's because the consulate is closed and not scheduling appointments.

 

There has not been any update as to when they will reopen at this point.

Clearly. I guess they won't open the consulate until they decide to open the border. B.C. is preparing to open into Phase III this month and hopefully the other provinces will follow.  Really bad timing all things considered.

I really hope the consulate's reopening isn't contingent on the land border. Remember, anyone can still fly into the US from Canada, which is also the only realistic way to get to the US from most countries -- even those whose embassies have started rescheduling interviews!
