I really hope the consulate's reopening isn't contingent on the land border. Remember, anyone can still fly into the US from Canada, which is also the only realistic way to get to the US from most countries -- even those whose embassies have started rescheduling interviews!

its based on a couple of things but of course there could be more or less, or these things could play a bigger or lesser role we have no idea but:

1. Canadas standing with Covid and probably Quebec/Montreal's covid cases since its local to them.

2. Can applicants actually get to Montreal from around the country

3. international flights

4. possibly land borders.

all speculation but right now all we can do is root for Quebec in their quest to get covid cases down and hope their progression in their phases continues smoothly while the land boarder remains closed.

I received an email today with my husbands interview date- January 2021. I guess they are opening! I checked their facebook and didn't see a post about them opening.

IR-1/CR-1 right? I don't think they are processing any other immigrant visa atm. The proclamation ban is ending at the end of December so that would make sense to start scheduling interviews in Jan. I won the lottery this year and I am really hoping that they will start scheduling asap....

EB-3 application failed in 2019 (Ability to pay)

Not sure where to ask, so I'm sorry if this is the wrong place. Looking through the IR-1/CR-1 Visa Data FAQ, I'm a bit confused :/.

My documents were fully qualified in May 2020, so looking at the spreadsheet I should receive a interview letter within the next month or two, correct?

Once again, sorry if I'm posting in the wrong area. Thank you.

Yep, that's correct! You should get your interview letter in the next few weeks and have an interview in February if Montreal keeps up the same pace :)
