Going crazy here seeing so much people getting the case number with NOA2 approval notice way after me and I call once a week, they still don't have anything 😓😢

Can I share somethings with you that I learned long ago about this process?

    • "the man with the gold makes the rules"
    • it will take as long as it will take
    • no one with any certainty can tell you when some process will be completed
    • Your sense of urgency will never be equaled to what USCIS, NVC or your embassy demonstrates
    • Your journey is not going to mirror someone else's experience - yours and theirs are not the same
    • They only promised you a YES or NO answer. Never an exact time that their decision would be completed
    • Lowering your expectations will make you a much more relaxed individual

Good luck on your journey

Your case number should be coming soon. I think both of us have a very similar timeline. I got my NOA2 on April 7th and called NVC an hour ago where they gave me my case number! You should definitely call them.

On another note, are they sending Packet 3's to beneficiaries even if embassies aren't doing interviews? Or will we have to wait for Packet 3 until the embassies start doing interviews again?

Yes, we'll for sure give them a call! thank you!

~~

My fiancé called them and they said they haven't received anything yet :(

Montreal is not sending any P3's or P4's out at the moment as they are closed. You're gonna have to wait until they open for them to start sending them again.
Which means, NVC is gonna ship it to them, but its going to sit there with alllll the other ones waiting for a P3, and they will go by date received -- once they open and start things up again.

@Greenbaum Do you have the P3 for Peru?   I contacted NVC online and received a response within 2 days with the case number.

I don't have a Packet 3 letter that has all the requirements for your upcoming interview but what I have I will share below. Once you get in touch with your Embassy and they send you the P3 letter with all the requirements if you would be so kind and share a copy with me then I can use it to help others in the future. Thanks.

So I called today and received my case number and invoice ID. My NOA2 was april 8th and case received date at NVC was 4/27th. I was told by the representative that due to the pandemic, the packet will remain at NVC and will be shipped to Honduras (TGU) as soon as embassies open. For what I understand, the embassy is open for emergency appointments. Anyone that called NVC and was told this as well?

Thanks!

That is the current version.  This week was NVC's week to ship and no records left for any embassies. Trust the process.

Ahh gotcha, that's what I thought - thanks! I knew that those who have been waiting before us will get their interviews first but just wondering if we would still get P3's during that time or if we would wait until the embassies open up. Do you know if they are still shipping packets to the embassy?

About two or three posts up I answered that for someone else.

They did not ship any cases to the embassies this week. Check in two weeks when there is another shipment due to go out.

Same here.

We tried contacting USCIS as well to see if they’ve shipped it but we couldn’t connect to a live representative. We also followed the steps on the PDF file that was provided.

We're also waiting for the case number. We received our NOA2 on April 6, 2020 but when we checked it online using the USCIS status check, it was already approved by April 1, 2020. I hope we get it soon! 😔 Because my fiancé emailed them and they said they haven't received it yet and it could take up to 6 weeks.

My fiance and I were approved on April 1 as well. We are still awaiting our case number from the NVC, I was calling on a daily basis the first couple of weeks and kept being told they "haven't received/could take up to 6 weeks" every time. It's Sunday now but I will call again tomorrow, we're getting close to the 6 week mark, and some have seemed to get their case number in under 3 weeks so we're anxious! Could you please let me know if you get your number? Thank you!
