RFE reasons for AOS

Just curious on the reasons you could get an rfe for aos . I’m just thinking if I could possibly get one for my medical (I’m due for a shot I believe), & possibly needed to add more evidence of marriage such as pictures or joint evidence.

Submitting an old form, not signing a form,   Sending the incorrect payment, sponsor not having enough income, not submitting tax documents, not submitting marriage license...

We didn't get an RFE at the time of AOS application but at the time of the interview they happened to not have my husband's medical exam that we submitted at the port of entry so we will be getting an RFE for a new medical exam.

Not required when filing.  Any evidence accumulated  after filing should be brought to the interview.

The most common one is an insufficient I-864 packet. Usually this is due to a mistake on the form, lacking evidence of income/assets claimed, lacking tax documentation, or the income/assets are insufficient.

 

But any deficiency in the filing can result in an RFE.

While I have seen an RFE for these, most of these nowadays would result in the application being rejected instead of an RFE. Payment especially.

Lack of a required document like a marriage certificate (the license is not required and has no meaning here) could result in an outright denial instead of an RFE. IO's discretion.
