The VP stayed and listened respectfully. The good Dr made his case, respectfully.  Pence has his philosophy of government, the Dr reminded him that people are impacted by these cuts.

If people do more respectful dialogue, there would be more accomplished in this country.

But the country, is angry and divided...I am afraid the voices of billigerence are going to prevail.

Yes but Pence was not answering his question. He kept saying what he had done as governor which was irrelevant and in the past. I agree it was handled with respect on both sides, just saying Pence did not have an answer.

You do realize you are defending Trumps VP and I am attacking him. This is the CHEST parallel Universe

Bizarro VJ!

I am defending his behavior (and the Drs) not his lack of a good answer, which stems back to the fact that he was an opponent to the ACA and still feels free market based solutions are superior.

As a mentor once told me : Two things count, what you do and how you do it.

Edit, I also don't think that Trump and Pence are cut from the same cloth, regardless of ideas or idealogy.

As you say, healthcare here is broken.  I do find it very disturbing that the current administration says they will tackle the problem after the next election.

Major cop-out.  Perhaps they know there will be no easy and painless fix.

Don’t they all say that?  For some reason that next election always seems to come up faster than anyone expects.

A lot of variation with dental insurance.  Some people that work/worked for large companies like ATT and Ford have some great plans that cover a lot and pay very well with a generous yearly maximum.  People that have to buy their own plans won't get much unless they pay a fortune.  Many plans don't pay much and the patient and/or the dentist gets screwed.

Insurance companies don't lose money.

I work for the U.S. Government and my dental is ok at best. It's still.not worth it paying more for the so called better plan because the numbers don't pan out to make it worth it. It at the same time I am going through my families two health insurance plans (United and ChampVA) to see if I can combine them with the dental plan to help pay as much as possible towards orthodontics for my oldest daughter.

It's good that you are helping the pagans. They really are under represented.

I have very few government workers, and as I recall they had some Federal Blue Cross plan that was very poor.  Probably one of the worst now is Tricare dental that the military have.  I rarely see patients with that, but my daughter is a pediatric dentist in Clarksville TN just outside of Fort Campbell and Tricare dental is so bad they had to quit taking it.  It paid worse than TN medicaid!   Many of those patient then started going to the corporate dental offices (Aspen Dental, etc) but a lot then returned to the office after getting poor treatment elsewhere.  I believe Tricare changed last year and is now administered by Metlife.  Coverage didn't change, however.

I do dentistry, not insurance.  My wife knows a lot more about insurance as she is in the front office.
