USCIS Hiring Freeze

Just browsing reddit and saw a bunch of posts there about a hiring freeze for uscis. Apparently lots of people were to join as Immigrations Service Officers and all roles have been put on hold now and possibly will be rescinded.  This obviously isn’t good for processing times.

there has been a government hiring freeze since 2017 of which USCIS is exempt (they need new ICE agents )

Yeah there is no longer a hiring freeze at all. You must be look at old posts

That’s interesting ok. Do you know of people working there?

 

These posts indicate the people were supposed to start this month and all been put on hold. Some of them posted the letters they received.

Yeah I looked for those posts and haven't seen anything.

 

There isn't a hiring freeze that I know of

My local organization has an hiring freeze but that's because they over hired people and now we are overstaffed. So no new GS civilians or promotions. So I am looking at jumping ship to be promoted to a 12
