Well that makes a ton of sense, because we filed in July. Thank you very much for this, you have saved me about 72 hours of stressing.

We filed in April. It was finally processed this Monday. Just to give you an idea of where they are 🤣 But we applied for an ITIN which adds approx 6-8 weeks on top of regular paper filing processing delays.

Wow, that is a long time for yours! I really appreciate your head's up about the delay. I feel WAY less stressed out now.

I had my oath ceremony yesterday and it was very unromantic so to say 😅 long line, outside of the building, 5 at a time could step forward to a plastic table to place their oath (everything is outside), next line to hand in paperwork and greencard, next line to pick up certificate. 30 minutes for everything. Done. Like someone said on here I found it a little disappointing seeing the heartache and time we’ve put into this process, but mainly I’m just so glad it’s over. SO GLAD.

good luck to everyone still waiting. Don’t lose hope.

and THANK YOU to all for all the support on here. So very helpful! Thank you!

Thanks to those of you who helped me with my tax transcript panic. As it turned out, I didn't have to show any documents at all (just my green card, passport, and driver's licence).

I aced the civics test. The officer was more concerned with the unusual situation of how I still work in Canada. They seemed pretty concerned with the possibility that I still maintain a residence over there (which I do not) or perhaps if I stay there for more than 6 months during the year (which I also don't). All in all, it was pretty easy experience, albeit a little stressful from all the questioning about my life (which I probably should have expected). The officer was nice, I liked him.

My interview was at 10:40am, and at 4:30pm exactly, I got the email saying the oath ceremony was scheduled. I called this morning to find out when it is, and the big day is November 20th. I'm surprised it's only 11 days after my interview; that seems pretty quick compared to a lot of timelines I've seen! I'm not complaining, though. Again, you cannot leave the USA for 2 weeks beforehand and they do check (the officer told me as much).

I guess this means I'll get to celebrate American Thanksgiving as an American (dual!) citizen. Cool!

Hey everyone. So I went to change my status with SSA but offices here are closed until unknown. .Not even appointments.Customer service said only way would be to mail in the original certificate but she wouldn’t trust the mail. I do have an appointment to apply for my passport later today but can I even go there if my SSN is not updated? Does somebody know?

Yes you can. Most people do SSN last thing because they determine passport as more important.

My wife naturalized on a Friday and applied for passport the following Monday.  Would recommend you pay the extra $60 to expedite your passport.  You can't get an appointment at the social security offices now anyway.  We plan to do that sometime next year.

Your naturalization certificate will be sent with you passport application. It will be returned separately from your passport.
We are waiting until SSA offices reopen to change my wife's card.

Just a quick update!

Monday, 11/09 I finally had my interview and passed! I was only asked 6 questions as far as I can remember and the usual yes/nos.

Today I woke up with a notification confirming my oathtaking ceremony date, with date to be revealed soon.

Anyway, the questions are:

1. What movement tried to end racial discrimination?

2. If the President cannot serve, who becomes President?

3. Name one state that borders Canada.

4. What ocean is on the West Coast of the US?

5. What are the two Cabinet-level positions?

6. Who signs bills into laws?

Wishing everyone a positive update on your cases! I guess my journey ends here. I'm so glad it's over :)

I’m all done now!

My oath ceremony was yesterday in Detroit at the USCIS field office. I was surprised there were about 30 people naturalizing at the same time. There was really no speech or anything, they congratulated us and we all took the oath at the same time. Then they called us up one by one to get our certificate. It was pretty anticlimactic but I’m glad it’s all over with.

It took a lot longer for everyone to get checked in and seated then the actual ceremony. Once everyone sat down, we were out in probably 15 minutes.

It feels really weird to be finished with immigration stuff. It hasn’t sunk in yet!

Hi everyone,

I've had no movement at all after getting my biometrics done. Logged in today and I see estimated wait time of 4 days. Is the system playing with my emotions? :) Anyway, I hear Minneapolis is notoriously slow. As far as my I-751 goes i'm ready to be scheduled for interview since June 14, 2019. Should I contact them about the N400 or wait till Janaury? Thanks

Also, any ideas as to what "Invalid date Case Is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS" means? It's under case history. image.thumb.png.2197411c4de9a47523b549464d355511.png
