Congratulations. Please do not purchase non refundable airline tickets until such time as you receive your visa and you are able to confirm that all the information is correct, then purchase your tickets and prepare for your trip. Safe travels.

BTW was there anything that stood out to you that I can pass on to others to be aware of while preparing or at the actual interview?  Thanks.

Thanks!
And thanks for the tips on airline tickets.

No, I would only have to say that what matters the most is just to be honest about your relationship and generally that is it.
I prepared a lot of chat and phone logs, information on trip we took together but that was not what interested CO. She was into the two of us: how we met, when, what are our plans etc.

@Greenbaum I tried to send you a private message but not able to do it

anyways, I received a P3 for Bosnia but it is in Bosnian language, so if you can pm me so I can forward that to you. However there was no ds5540 mentioned on it so not sure what to do now

Apologize for intervene.
I am sure that if there was a need for ds5540, P3 would state it as necessary.
If  I am not mistaken ds5540 is only for DS-260
You just gather all requested as per P3 letter.

Good luck to you

First congrats to you guys

It's been really tricky for DS5540.. Some embassies were asking for it even for K1 visas lately. I might just fill it out just in case, so I'm ready if they ask for it.

Thank you!

Well you can always contact your local Embassy and ask them if there is need for DS5540
I, for example, had very pleasant experience with Belgrade Embassy prior to my interview - I emailed them all questions regarding interview documentation for which I was not sure how to deal with. And they responded. My advice would be  - when addressing your question to Embassy just be clear with your question.

Regards

I discuss this in the PDF file (there is a link to the form) and my recommendation is to complete the DS-5540 and bring it to the interview. Most P3 are not updated showing the requirement or not. Also, each embassy is handling this differently and until they get this sorted out, it's better to be prepared then to spend extra weeks waiting for approval after you have submitted the document after the interview.

I am sure that if there was a need for ds5540, P3 would state it as necessary. Most of the embassies have not updated their P3's so we are still unsure who is and who isn't asking for it.
If  I am not mistaken ds5540 is only for DS-260 True but the embassy's are not up to speed so they are asking "everyone" to complete whether it's required or not. Reading through what is asked is a joke for the K-1 but the "man with the gold makes the rules". So, be sure to have one with you unless of course you have emailed and the embassy has replied with their requirements.
You just gather all requested as per P3 letter.

Good luck to you

If anyone is having their interview can you report back to the outcome if the DS-5540 is required for your embassy. Thanks.

I can only tell that I was not asked to bring the DS-5540 for today`s interview appointment.
And it was not listed on my P3, nor it was on P4 letter.

Please advise us if you have had to submit a DS-5540 at your interview. I am trying to keep track of who is and who isn't so when I share a P3 with someone I can also advise them of this fact. Thanks.

Welp, granted Croatia isn’t on the banned country list yet, but I think I will be waiting out this 30 day ban to have my interview. I would need to switch to a connecting flight somewhere in EU anyway, so not like I got too much choices here. Ahhhh, lets hope this ban lasts only 30 days.

Well I feel we can still schedule our interview and get the visa but just wait on buying the tickets. Or also, you can get the connection through London or maybe Istanbul if you are really missing your love 😊

I’m just collecting all the documents, so hopefully next week I’ll have everything and go ahead and see the availability for the interview.

We probably can, but my gut is telling me to wait it out. Croatia is putting it’s own measures up, and both London and Istanbul can be banned any moment. Plus my fiancé works with people that are at higher risk, I would rather not be the one that possibly picks up the virus somewhere along the way and causes his clients to be sick.

Exactly what I just read, UK has closed their airports too. So now we just need to wait.
