I think it's right to say that assault is NEVER acceptable. It doesn't matter if it's because of someone's political beliefs or religious beliefs or what that person is wearing. Why is it worse if it's someone in a MAGA hat who is beaten up than a young man who is mugged on the street for his wallet?

I've been told for the last 3 years that MAGA hats are a symbol of racism, white supremacy, misogyny, Nazism, etc., hence why people wearing them in public are increasingly subjected to violence, hate hoaxes, property theft, slander/libel in the media, death threats, and so on. 

 

Clearly a hat is being treated as something far more than a hat.

Certainly have heard advocacy of punching those sorts in the face.  It has been sometime, but it was there.
