Have you had that? I have. It's... fine. Perfectly acceptable though nothing to write home about. The big thing it has going for it besides being pretty inoffensive (I have had far sweeter rose bubbles, yuck) is that cans are very light, and therefore cheaper to transport both personally and when being shipped. I'd put this can down to a piffling misdemeanor. This, on the other hand, should involve a firing squad:

I'm sorry, Andre Cold Duck is probably best left for its proper use: an improvised alcohol rub for wounds. :P

That's its proper secondary/bonus use, si ma'am.

Chief use is for internal digestive-system deployment.

If anyone thinks I am above a screw top, they would be VERY mistaken! :D I am not anti-cheap booze (hey, I used to be a student after all), I am just anti-gross cheap booze. There is plenty to drink that's delicious at every price point, whether it's got a cork or a screw top or in a plastic bag in a box or even in a can.

But how booze tastes is unique to each person. What you hate another may love. I hate beer. Any kind of beer. Don't matter if it's fancy or cheap. Fruity or craft. It's all nasty to me.

How about in a small bottle? I am very partial to ciders. Love love love Rekorderlig the most. But when Angry Orchard released a version of rose in bottle or can I was willing to try it. Surprisingly nice, though some feel it's an abomination.

I think it’s more what it symbolizes that turns people off in some places. There’s something very trashy about putting rosé in a can and branding it Babe, and it conjures images of very loud, often wealthy but tasteless women getting drunk off it during brunch at an expensive restaurant. I don’t know if that is a cliché where you live, but people joke about that often here.

True, but I think almost everyone can agree that Cold Duck is an abomination. :)

I like some beers, but they are very particular. Lagers and I don't mix, for example (bad college flashbacks). But there are some ales I like -- I love Adnams' Broadside, which I can occasionally find over here but not always. Ciders are another thing altogether -- I also lovelovelove them! When I did my year abroad in the West of England, I got verrrrrrry partial to drinking scrumpy. This was my favorite place to go to drink it, and to fill up gallon jugs with cider for drinking at home: http://thecoronationtap.com/index.php

Broadside in bottle is much stronger than the cask, I grew up on Adnams, Youngs, Fuller and of course Greene King. Did a few Brewery trips to Adnams.

You have been to Southwold! The ex's family lives near there, so I am very familiar with the surrounding area (Walberwick, Dunwich, Blythburgh, etc.). I have been to the Harbour Inn more times than I can count... mostly because I may have been carried out of there a few times. :P (MIL of the cornfed comment was NOT amused.)

I have done the Dunwich Dynamo, I grew up on that side of London.

The source of your angst is helping you get through your angst? Do you know what's great for meth addiction? More meth!

It's not like that at all. I guess I was overly vague. He found out over the weekend that his job is definitely being transferred from San Francisco to Santa Monica at the beginning of the new year. We'd thought it was only a possibility at first, but now it's happening whether I like it or not. (And I like it not.) I don't want to move, and I'm faced with having to give up the life I have made for myself here for a big unknown. No job to go to for me. And he can't refuse or he'll have to resign, be out of status and go back to the UK without me. Getting married right away and filing for AOS doesn't fix it either, since we'd need to wait for his EAD for him to be able to quit his job and get a new one in SF. And he doesn't want to leave his job! So in all likelihood I am packing up my life and moving to Santa Monica or Venice or Pacific Palisades or wherever and going too. We are a team. Yes, I could stay here without him, but I don't want to do a commuter relationship again. It's just a lot to think about. He's being very supportive and giving me the space to make my own decision about where I want to be. I want to be with him, and the terms of his visa mean he has to work where his employer tells him. So I'm going too. It's very important for him that I know there are no ultimatums. We would make it work if I stayed here. But that's not what I want. That's all. Sorry for being so vague.

Ha ha, very funny. He's actually given me more space to make my own decisions about my life than any other partner I've ever had. I'm going to be just fine, things are a bit bumpy but I know he's here to make it easier in every way he can.
