This piece seems pretty accurate in explaining what some of "us" here have been dancing around with in this forum.  Thoughts?

The Odd Conservative Love Affair With Tulsi Gabbard

I think I know what the deal is with all the gushing adoration Tulsi Gabbard has somehow managed to wrangle from ordinarily sensible conservatives.  Think of a regular guy walking down the hall in high school, and the head cheerleader passes by and says, “Hi.”  The dude’s going to think she’s awesome.  Of course, just because she is polite doesn’t mean Regular Joe is ever going to take her to the prom.

Tulsi gets Strange New Conservative Respect for several reasons, but the primary one is [...]

I watch Tucker Carlson often on Fox.  He usually rants at liberals on his show.  Lately he has had Tulsi on several times and it appears he has a thing for her.  Always very polite and defending her.  Found it very interesting.

Conservatives hate AOC, they love Tulsi. Ultimately doesn't matter. I liked John Kasich better than Donald Trump. Wasn't going to vote for either one though.  I think what is important as it pertains to the Democrat nominee is that they can actually get Democrats to vote for them. Something that was not the case with Hillary.

Good points.   I really don't care one whit which part a candidate chooses,  but instead care more about what (s)he is going to do to better life for we the people. I believe Trump is doing more for us than Hillary ever would have.  I hope we can find a candidate who is willing to do more than Trump.

Goes along with the OP article, perhaps:  Tulsi acts like an opponent, not an enemy.

I don't agree with many of her policy stances at all, yet I don't dislike listening to her discuss them.

This is in stark contrast to the shrewish harridans elsewhere in that political party.

Honestly she is ok in my book. Alot of her policies I don't like but I do see that she is flexible and willing to change based of new information. Also she is not shrieking out so that's great

So Alex sent me this earlier today -- ever since he saw Tulsi in the debates, he's been keeping tabs on "the only hot one of the lot":

Interesting -- I kind of think that she might be angling for a job as a pundit rather than going third party, personally.

She has no chance as a third party candidate, and it looks like she was going to face a serious challenger in her House race. Better to set herself up now as a pundit, so when she loses her job in 2020 she already has an alternative income stream. Very smart -- a woman after my own heart, making sure she knows there's going to be money coming in. 💲💲💲
