Well, we're counting the days....

2020 has been the wildest so far...

What can we do in the meantime for the interview (F2A - Spouse, Beirut, Lebanon)?

Do we have to fill out the DS-5540 now?

And for the "proof of on-going relationship", I always wondered how we should show that, since we cannot carry our cellphone.... (I mean Telegram/WhatsApp/iMessage texts)!

Looks like there is no need for ds 6540 temporarily.

https://www.boundless.com/immigration-resources/form-ds-5540-public-charge-questionnaire/

"IMPORTANT UPDATE — AUGUST 7, 2020: Immigrant visa applicants do not need to fill out the Public Charge Questionnaire (Form DS-5540) following a ruling temporarily blocking the Trump administration from enforcing its public charge rules while the United States is under a national public health emergency due to the coronavirus pandemic"

Hey guys... so according to my keen research/assumption based on the stats on this website for PAKISTAN EMBASSY and/or any other... I predicted the interview letters (IL) and Interview Dates (ID) for this year 2020:

The interviews are basically held after one month of the IL's emails so I'll put a / in my predictions below (You can have 1-3 months in each +/-) :

  1. If you got DQ'd in February 2020 : You can expect IL and ID in September 2020/October 2020
  2. If you got DQ'd in MARCH 2020 : You can expect IL and ID in October 2020/November 2020
  3. If you got DQ'd in APRIL 2020 : You can expect IL and ID in November 2020/December 2020
  4. If you got DQ'd in MAY 2020 : You can expect IL and ID in December 2020/January 2021
  5. If you got DQ'd in June 2020 : You can expect IL and ID in January 2021/February 2021
  6. If you got DQ'd in July 2020 : You can expect IL and ID in February 2021/March 2021
  7. If you got DQ'd in Aug 2020 : You can expect IL and ID in March 2021/April 2021.

These are based on data from this website. I am not an expert; just anxiously waiting for my husband... hope this helps a little. Good luck everyone. Keep me updated on your IL and Interview dates. Thank you :)

Hey Everyone,

Any good news? please share! We need to keep each other motivated.

Stay Positive

We are currently seeing/re-scheduled interviews between now and October if you were DQ'd in February or March. See the last post on here. We have same DQ date... so we can expect a IL in November or December followed by the interview date for December or January Insha'Allah.

Not 100% sure but according to many people on here, they've received reschedules for their cancelled visas in Sept and October... a few got approved too....(those were cancelled interviews/people who's medicals were expiring) you can read a few ISLAMABAD embassy posts on this website... but we can hope for something soon, that's for sure because we are at NVC/DQ stage right now.. (all provided embassy will continue visa processing in the same manner)

Hi all, NVC asked to resubmit one of the documents which I did 2 weeks ago. How much time do you think it will take for them to finish checking? When should I start calling them (or shouldn't I?) to ask about my case? Many thanks!

You can expect 2-3 months again for the wait.

Hello Friends,

Newbie Here..I am a US Citizen.

I applied for my parents IR5 visa, asked to resubmit two documents. I already re-submitted the docs on Oct 9th , 2020. first time they took about 2 months, and now already more than 5 weeks passed.

Do you have any idea, How long it might take for them to review re-submitted documents. will they start from the scratch - I mean , same time Frame for first time submitters?

My Parents are in Bangladesh. Anyone has any idea when might they get their interview , if approved with in a month or so.

any idea or tips?

Thanks a lot guys.. This forum is really helpful :).

Follow this link: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/nvc-timeframes.html

As of Nov. 16, 2020, the NVC is reviewing documents submitted before Aug. 27, 2020.

Visas can not be issued until the ban is over.  Beginning of 2021 would be the earliest for interviews in the IR5 category.  Since the ban has been going on since March, don't expect your parents to interview until all the parents who haven't had interviews the last 9 months are processed since they are ahead in line.  You are probably looking at the end of summer 2021.
