First it took them 64 days to review my first submission, and then took 80 days after resubmitting in Feb (with the Covid Delay) and got DQ'ed in May 2020. Now waiting for interview date to be given.

Well, we're counting the days....

2020 has been the wildest so far...

What can we do in the meantime for the interview (F2A - Spouse, Beirut, Lebanon)?

Do we have to fill out the DS-5540 now?

And for the "proof of on-going relationship", I always wondered how we should show that, since we cannot carry our cellphone.... (I mean Telegram/WhatsApp/iMessage texts)!

First of how is your wife and her family doing? Very bad tragedy, so sorry. Now moving on to your question yes put as much as you could (it doesn’t hurt). Also this DS-5540 is super confusing. Some people were asked some didn’t. At least it’s easy for you to add your spouse in your health plan. Hope things goes smooth.

Thank you - thank god they are fine & safe, the situation was bad, it's now worse.

I'm on a marketplace health insurance. How would I add her to my insurance policy?

So what you’ve to do is call your insurance company and ask them for a new quote with your spouse added. They might ask you when she should be in so just tell them she doesn’t have a SSN yet and expected to come to the US as soon as she gets her visa. They won’t charge you anything until her plan kicks in. But that way she will be all set for her visa interview and if asked by a consular officer she would have all the required docs.

OK thanks, do you think it's worth to try now or wait until November when I apply for the new year?

I will most likely switch my insurance company for next year on November. We all know embassies are not going to interview our case until next year.... Unless something crazy happens...

I wonder how they would schedule interview once the ban is lifted. Do they start it before it expires? Are we expecting another few months of delay? (hopefully COVID-19 will be contained better than this rather than shutting everything down)

I would wait till you actually get an interview letter.

Wait till the ban ends then / Interview Letter, and as you're looking to change the Insurance Company so taking a quote from existing one would be a waste of energy.

Yes. Basically because my brother hadn’t uploaded his 2018 tax return. When he did, this was sufficient for them and the status changed to ‘accepted’. Our visas were approved last Friday. 😁

Hi,

My brother has the same issue where he submitted his 2018 transcript and i864 based on the 2018 and below returns because he had not filed his 2019 taxes at that time. He was also told that his income does not meet the guidelines but it does. He now has his 2019 tax information. Did your brother upload the updated transcript in the ceac website (did he even have a place to upload it) or did you take it at the interview? I'm worried that uploading something new will push back his dates.

Hi hope00012. From what I remember, he uploaded his 2018 tax return to the CEAC site, but he also mailed me a copy of it so I had it for the interview as well. I think he uploaded it to the same area as all his other supporting documents.
