I mean do you think they are scheduling interviews for September filers n400 ? I’m still waiting I’m worried I check the USCIS website every day .i need to travel by May

It will depend on your local field office. For Washington DC field office, they are scheduling interview for people who applied early September. I applied mid September and did not hear anything yet.

Thank you for your response, I am starting to get desperate, just because I have a trip overseas and don't want it to interfere with my process.

I am traveling next month too for work but just for 2 weeks. I hope my interview is scheduled end of march or early April.

I have a school on June, and it's only for a week, and that's the thing I hope not to have my interview during that week, or my oath a week before the trip, because then I won't have enough time to get my passport.

You can get a same day passport or 2 days max if you show proof of travel such as itinerary. Lets hope we will get the interview in April and oath by end of May.

Attended interview today at San Antonio field office. Any electronics or electrical chargers/headphones in the bags will have to be taken out at the entrance check-point.

At the check-in the reception area did a quick index finger scan and a photo was taken.

Appointment was for 7:45am but it took about an hour for them to have me interviewed. I guess everyone if given a single appointment time early in the morning and then they go through the interviews which may or may not happen at the appointed time. I had a very pleasant interviewing officer who scanned the room and pointed at me instead of calling my number so I figured he had looked at my various photos and studied my file in-depth.

My conversation with him was mostly about different places that I had lived in the USA. We both agreed that San Francisco was a very nice city with great food etc. He asked me only for my greencard as the only document he wanted to see. He mentioned the length of time that I had been in the US  as something he noticed reading my file. I was also afforded the sacred sight of my immigration file which was sitting on the table and which now had been thickened to over a foot and a half.

Questions:

1: How do Americans participate in their democracy?

2: Name one branch of the government?

3: Name two political parties in the usa?

4: What's the political party of the President? (Here the interviewing officer showed a bit skepticism on the linkage between the two entities mentioned in the question)

I somehow can't remember the other two questions. I then went through the writing and speaking part of the test and I had to reaffirm my answers from the N400 form.

At the conclusion, I was handed a form with the box for approval checked. The IO mentioned that he is approving my application and I should get a notice for oath taking in the mail and with that I was done. It took about 45 minutes. The actual interview took about ten minutes and the rest was just small-talk.

I think San Antonio office has put in a good work-flow in place with this new location. It is a big improvement on their previous location. The environment is very relaxed and the staff is very nice (as in smiling a lot) and professional.

There are a few fast food restaurants within the block. There is major roadside construction going on 281 HWY so you might want to keep that in mind while driving there.

Did the IO tells you when your Oat ceremony will be or is your oat ceremony scheduled already?

He mentioned that it could take 120 days for scheduling the oath ceremony. He didn't give me any specific timeline of when to expect it.

Have my interview tomorrow and had a question about the civics test - there are questions with multiple answers like 'why did the colonists fight the British' ?.. so for these kind of questions, do I have to memorize all the answers? Or just one of the acceptable answers is fine?

just one answer should be ok. answer to your question colonist fight the british because they didnt have self goverment or because of higher taxes( taxation without representation).

i would just answer they didnt have self goverment.

Hello guys,

I filled my online n400 September 30 in Fairfax, Virginia and haven't heard anything about the interview date. My concern is we are moving to Florida in March 8. When do you think should I change my address? Thank you to your help.

Just got a notification my wife's interview has been scheduled (don't have the letter yet). We are out of the Santa Ana, CA office.   This surprised us as it always told us the completion date was expected to be June.
