Mexico wants to sue the United States for failing to protect its citizens after this weekend's mass shooting in El Paso, Texas, which left 20 people dead, including three Mexican nationals.

Mexico Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard in a video posted on Twitter Sunday vowed to take legal action against the US. 

The mass shooting on Saturday at a Walmart at the Cielo Vista Mall also left 26 people injured, including 9 who were also Mexican citizens.

Ebrard said Mexico condemned Saturday's shooting and called it an “act of barbarism.”

 

My first thought is that perhaps they need to build a wall.

These might have been Mexican citizens legally present.

 

It's extremely common for Mexicans of all economic strata* to do cross-border shopping, when they have permission to enter.  I've witnessed this several times, and I marvel at how so many bags of often-heavy stuff are hand-carried back into Mexico with who-knows-how-long a walk to people's homes.

 

*Articles have been written about wealthy Mexicans who fly in purely to visit the upscale malls.

I've seen "regular" Mexicans loaded down with bags from Dollar General.

This guys seems to be a buffoon as well, He wants to extradite the suspect to Mexico.  Last I remember Mexico does not have a death penalty, at least in Texas he has a good chance of getting lethal injection

The odd thing is that in CDJ this would be just a blip, maybe worth reporting if it was all in one event, but otherwise a few days worth,

Well we know the El Paso guy has been described as a White Supremacist, is he, possibly, probably  do not know. 

 

And the Dayton guy seems to be a Progressive, mind you despite the wall to wall coverage CNN seems to have missed that.

 

I am not sure it really matters, loons are at both ends.

 

Meanwhile life and death carries on in Chicago etc, I know one Hospital had to stop taking in new patients over the weekend, seems to be the usual Gangbangers and certainly the media seems uninterested.

The El Paso guy was absolutely yet another lil Nazi sympathizer, and also if you look back at some of his history there may be some implications (like many psychos) that he started out with animals. As for the Dayton guy.. it's more complex. He had multiple pages espousing at times, differing beliefs that were not compatible with one another. I suspect mental health (of a multi personality kind) is a factor here... however this guy did spend time in internet communities that overlap with the first guy. They both loathed women. But the Dayton guy long had views about the desire to rape, kill, and cannibalize women. He was feared at school. His potential political views on one page are seemingly erased by other views he claimed on another. In short, that guy was a mental nut nihilist.

 

And yes sure, meanwhile murders in every city in America go on and not many talk about them. Yesterday, we had a gun standoff right down the road from my house. On Saturday in Baltimore they announced the arrest of a mother (and her partner) in the murder of her toddler son (adorable child with special needs.. knew as soon as I heard the story that she was lying). In my town they arrested a man who had sole custody of his toddler son, who nearly beat and strangled the child to death (in critical condition now). And there's more and more stories like this... they are all horrible crimes done by horrible people - but the motivations are always different.

 

One thing I am certain of. The killings, including the mass murders... will not stop. It will get worse.

Sounds like we are pretty much in agreement, I doubt the El Paso guy really knows what NAZI means, similar to very few certainly in the US who seem to know what a Socialist is, National or otherwise. UK is Socialist, really?

 

The continuing lets call it Outrage Culture can only lead us in one direction. I mainly hit the Guardian web site, and this was a paper I would read decades ago. Looked at it this morning and the vitriol on it, basically ramping things up was quite disturbing and yes I know they are certainly not alone, seems anything for clicks despite the societal consequences.

The media will never criticize, and rarely will publicize (in passing) failures of Democrat-run cities.

 

Read somewhere recently (must re-find it) that if Baltimore were a foreign country, its denizens would qualify to file for asylum in the U.S. -- murder rate higher than that of El Salvador or some such.

Judging from CNN they see it as a win situation, it could easily be flipped if they go too far and usually they go too far.

 

I hear a lot about Background Checks, which we have in Colorado, however that would have very little effect. Now admittedly they are preaching to the ignorant but certainly in my State we have checks, we have limited magazines etc so none of this would make any difference. And large magazines are not that relevant, you just have many smaller ones.

 

So what will they end up doing, ban 'Assault Rifles', which is basically a colour with irrelevant attachments? And hand guns are a much more common issue.

 

Whenever I have suggested well a lot of the places with issues are Dem controlled so why do they not give it a try in lets say Chicago, then I get well people can get guns elsewhere and bring them in, well where does that stop, they do not want to secure the Border?
