FYI. Keep in mind the cut off day for making the shipping depends on the case number being assigned by the Wednesday before the next weeks shipping day. They do ship on both Tuesday and Wednesday.

Got my noa2 dated July 11. I called NVC a while ago to update my fiance's address because it has changed since I submitted the I-129f. They told me to notify the embassy once they finish, which was strange because uscis told me to notify nvc once they finish. Anyways, nvc told me they didn't have my case yet so I dont have a case number at this time, but I feel like I'm supposed to be doing something other than sitting and waiting for a piece of mail. Should we be doing the ds160 or medical or background check for the beneficiary now?

Once you get the case number you ca complete the DS-160.

During the petition process USCIS doesn't care if the beneficiary moves, they send nothing to the beneficiary.   Only the petitioner's address matters. You can change the address on the DS-160 and at the embassy to inform them where to send the approved visa. If you want to change the petitioner's address use this link: https://egov.uscis.gov/coa/displayCOAForm.do or file a form AR-11.

I called over a week ago and NVC told me my case number and confirmed my email address. How long did you all wait to receive an email from them with the next steps? Do I have to call them again for the next steps? Thank you

There  is no other step after you get your number with the exception of  shipping out at NVC level. They don't  always  send you an email. Your next steps will be at embassy level.

We know the case number allows you complete the DS-160.  Not long ago you could use your receipt number beginning with WAC. NOA1 has this number.

Try your WAC# and see if it let's work on the DS-160.  Let me know if that still works.

Go to the embassy website and search for information.

Find your subforum here on VJ and begin communicating with others like you or with the experts that have completed that stage.

¿Cómo comenzar a prepararse para la entrevista?

In my country it is allowed to do the DS160 with the WAC receipt number ... Take a test by filling out a DS160 and do not save it in case you are not allowed to put the WAC
