So the question is are you going to keep waiting? If they havent responded to any correspondence above i would file the mandamus.

Yes, I'm very impatient to, but my lawyer was urging me to give it longer. There's also the consideration of the cost of doing it (around $5k).

I'll likely give it another few months, and keep having the congressmans office push on it too, and then do mandamus if nothing's happened.

Yeah 5k is alot. Hopefully it will resolve without needing to file mandamus. Good luck with it.

Hi, I am a permanent U.S resident for 4 years. I got my residency through my husband.  please does anyone know if it is required that my husband attend the citizenship interview with me? Thanks

Because of covid, only the person who is getting interviewed can go in the building, so your husband doesn't have to go with you. Unless it's a combined interview with i-751. I also applied based on 3 years through marriage, and had my interview this Monday. Just make sure you bring your husband's BC & passport, and marriage certificate. Plus tax returns for the last 3/4 years in case they ask.

Hello - i went to an interview on Sept 2 and was told by the officer I was approved. However, on the online portal, they said my case was transferred to another office for review. Does anyone know why is that???? Also, how long does it take for you to receive the oath ceremony details? 878843128_ScreenShot2020-09-22at11_51_10AM.thumb.png.ea0452469e71c93c3f1d8b0c79700edd.pngimageproxy.php?img=&key=da9b9b78549feebe

I read that sometimes if the office has too many cases they transfer some cases to nearby offices!

I've read they sometimes do a quality review between offices. I suspect yours has just been selected at random for this. It will probably be approved within a few weeks.

Can someone please shed some light if something is wrong with my N-400? I went to interview in early sept and was told my case was approved on site. However, in mid-sept, on the usics portal, it said was case was transferred and yesterday, there is an updated message. I haven't gotten the mail but it makes me so nervous. What does it mean "a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you"??? Omg, is there something wrong with my case???

On October 23, 2020, we cancelled the oath ceremony appointment scheduled for your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, Receipt Number XXXXX. We will notify you by mail if the appointment is rescheduled, a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

Below is the email I received, I am so worried. Can someone please let me know what it could be? I googled it but nothing came up for this email wording.

Application Type: N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION

Your Case Status: Post Decision Activity

On October 23, 2020, we cancelled the oath ceremony appointment scheduled for your Form N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION, Receipt Number xxxxxxx. We will notify you by mail if the appointment is rescheduled, a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State. For denied applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations.

I moved in June from NYC to PA and I filled in AR11 online on June 4. but i still went to interview in NYC in August. I didn't think about it at the time, but now someone is saying NYC office doesn't have jurisdiction over PA?? Do I have to reapply all over again? Also, when I went to the interview, the officer was so nice, she said she is going to put me as applying for 5 years (because I just passed the 5 years mark of getting the green card) so I don't have to bring all the marriage stuff at the oath. Would that also be a potential issue??

You certainly don't have to apply all over again but if you moved your case needs to go to the right office. Technically you can't have your oath in NYC if you live in PA.

You shouldn't worry- that's probably why you got the notification about case transferred. I also moved and had my interview in NYC when I no longer live in NYC the officer did tell me that my case would have to be transferred to the right office. So they are likely going to schedule your oath in PA. I wouldn't worry and you can always call and confirm

That's the reason why they canceled your ceremony, just because you changed your address, they transferred another office. That's not a problem,  they will schedule the ceremony at your new office of location.
