  1. Hi there, I am trying to apply a green card for my mother. She is currently residing in Hong Kong. My I-130 has been approved and just got a NVC number. I am in the process of gathering the civil documents, and one of the document is "certificate of no criminal conviction". In Hong Kong consulate's website, it clearly stated "Please do not request that the Certificate of No Criminal Conviction be sent directly to the National Visa Center, as this may cause delays in your case." (https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/HongKong.html). However, from the Hong Kong police department's website, it stated "Upon receipt of complete application documents and the required processing fee, we shall issue the Certificate and send it directly by registered mail of the Hongkong Post to the relevant Consulate / Immigration Authority / Government Authority. Applicants will NOT receive any copy of the Certificate." (https://www.police.gov.hk/ppp_en/11_useful_info/cert_no_crime_overseas.html). If the Hong Kong police department refused to send me a copy of Certificate of no criminal Conviction, I then can't scan it and upload it to CEAC. Is anyone here from Hong Kong and can shed some light what you did?
  2. I went to N-400 interview on Sept 3 and was approved by the officer. However, on Sept 16, the USCIS online portal updated my status from approved to "transfer to another office for review". I didn't pay much attention and yesterday, I received an email saying that an action has been taken about my case. I previously received an email on Sept 3 with my case status as "Oath ceremony" and now this latest email changed to "Post Decision Activity". Does it mean my approval was rescinded and I will have to provide further proof? Please shed some light if you have this situation before. I am extremely worried! Receipt Number: XXXXXX Application Type: N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION Your Case Status: Post Decision Activity On October 23, 2020, we cancelled the oath ceremony appointment scheduled for your Form N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION, Receipt Number XXXXXX5. We will notify you by mail if the appointment is rescheduled, a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address. For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State. For denied applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations.
