AP varies case by case. Generally in UK seems to be relatively short like the Philippines is, but again can last awhile depending on circumstances. There are people who get stuck in AP for years.

Mine was exactly a week...

and it was a nerve wrecking one... 😬

but it felt so good to see the “issued” when it finally appeared.

I guess it depends mainly on how busy they are at the consulate at that time... so hang in there.

Looking for people's personal experiences. Thank you!

Have you tried asking those in the London sub-forum on VJ? There are experts over in the sub-forum for your country located here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/99-united-kingdom/  This is where others from your country who are processing or those who have completed their interview and they can guide you on their experience. A TON of information and help there. Since each embassy is different I would think you would want your replys to your question to be reflective of the UK embassy and not the Moroccan Embassy or others.

When you look at your CEAC status page does it say immigrant or non-immigrant? If it has switched over to non-immigrant you are headed in the right direction) Good Luck...

Not a newbie but lost my old info years ago) I have been through this process before --all the way through naturalization-- This site has always been a great help to me.

When you access CEAC to query your status you first choose "immigrant" as your visa type then enter your case number. If you get NO STATUS  then redo the query using "non-immigrant" which should return your status.

The K-1 process is quite strange. For a time, it is both a non-immigrant and immigrant visa type. As you go through the stages, within the NVC system you look up your file under immigrant (ceac.state.gov/). It stays that way until after your interview and the approval and your visa is ready for issue. At that point, it changes over to non-immigrant. It truly is a non-immigrant visa with immigrant intent.

Just about everyone goes through this process.  Based on the discussions I had with the case officer at USEM Philippines he informed me of the steps to complete the processing of your visa:

the first AP is the immigration unit doing the paperwork for approving the visa

the first ready is a notice that they are finished and the paperwork is being sent for visa issuance

the second AP is the visa issuance people doing their own paperwork

the second ready is that the visa has been issued and is currently being processed for delivery

Then "issue" is posted and the visa has left the BIG house to YOUR house.

Once you get that second ready, it should be sent out within a few days, although we received our visa before any of the various websites that allow you to look up the status said that it had been sent out.

USEM issued this warning.

You are advised not to make any travel arrangements, not to dispose of your property or give up your job until the visa has been issued to you. The maximum validity of an fiancé(e) visa is six (6) months from the date of issuance/medical eam date. You must travel to the United States within that 6-month period.

I tried to search using Non-immigrant with our case number, but it says invalid case number. 🙁 and when i tried ds-160 application number it appears as NO STATUS and was updated last April, it’s totally not updated.

If the CEAC site doesn't respond for a long time and then doesn't give a status when searching under immigrant for the case number you got from NVC ( starting with MNL in the Philippines, MOS in Russia, etc.), it's usually because your case has moved from the immigrant unit to the non-immigrant unit and for some reason when the CEAC site has to look up your non-immigrant case from your immigrant case, it's very slow.

You can try using the receipt number on your DS-160 (not your Alien, but starts with A) and searching under non-immigrant at that point, and you'll get a response from the site. Though it looks like they'll be down for maintenance tomorrow from 4 pm - 11 pm US/Eastern time.
