It's difficult to believe that German students would seek enrollment into a community college in California for a fee (+ travel and accomodation) whereas Germany has abolished tuition fees for undergrads, both German and international, at all, only books/campus compensation payable.

Lmao this is the most unrelated and uninformed answer I've seen on here. Please don't speculate in something you clearly know nothing about.

What has that got to do with people who genuinely want to study in the US regardless of what Germany has to offer. I have German coworkers who attended community colleges here in the US and later continued to big name schools after 2 years.

I would be interested to read the rules about marrying in the UK. I'm a UK citizen and have never heard of that. In fact, I know several couples who married in the UK with no fiancé visa. I actually think marrying in the UK and then filling cr1 would be a great option for you. Best of luck to you both!

From the official website, re marriage of a foreign national with no visa to a UK citizen:

If you do not have a marriage visitor visa or family visa

You can still give notice of your intention to get married or form a civil partnership but the immigration authorities at the Home Office will be told.

The Home Office might:

  • ask questions about you and your relationship - if this happens you may need to wait up to 70 days before getting married or forming a civil partnership
  • decide not to approve your notice - if this happens you cannot get married or form a civil partnership in the UK

So, essentially you can get married but may have to answer some questions first.

engaged so close to this past student visa denial

Enganged is not even a term that USCIS cares about.   It has no legal standing.   USCIS does care that you intend to marry and show proof of that.
