We were asked some basic questions about our relationship - where did you meet, when did you meet, each other's date of birth, place of marriage, how big was the wedding, what activities the two of us do together etc. The I 751 was approved then N400 interview was conducted. Civics test, followed up by reading and writing test then few more questions from the information on the application. It was approved too. 

 

Lawrence MA is conducting same day oath ceremony and 90 minutes after I walked in the USCIS building I left as an US Citizen. Phew... it comes to an end for me.

 

But I filed for my daughter as my dependent and if her file was at the Field Office her I751 would have been approved too. For no reason, she hasn't received even her bio metric appointment and now it is back to calling USCIS and try to reason with them.

Our ROC is still pending. Our status has been “case is ready to be scheduled for an interview “ for 128 days now. We have an 18 month extension that will end in one month on 10/26. What does one do in a case like this if we don’t receive another extension and an interview has still not been scheduled?

You don't have to do anything, just keep waiting.

 

If you have an emergency where you have to travel outside the US you can call USCIS and ask for an infopass, they call you back with an appointment to go have your passport stamped so you can easily come back into the US again.

@Scandi and all: Do you have a resource to which you could point me (and others) that confirms we don't need to do anything more? My husband is in a similar situation as @jasper383 with the ROC still pending and case status at 'ready to be scheduled for an interview' for 148 days. The 18-month extension expires in January 2021. We concurrently filed the N-400 application in May, hoping it might fast track the process, but it seems to have the opposite effect. The estimated date of completion for the N-400 was originally January 2021, but changed to December 2021 a couple of months ago. Appreciate any advice from others on the forum.

Does Your’s husband I-751 transferred to NBC after N-400 application yet ?

His i-751 was transferred to NBC on March 24, 2020 due to a case backlog at the Vermont Service Center. This was before we filed the N-400, so it was unrelated.

At what point have any members of this forum started calling the USCIS hotline to inquire about the case(s)? My husband's ROC 18-month extension will expire in about 3.5 months, and I'm not sure what to do if that happens. We concurrently filed his N-400 in May, but haven't heard anything for that case beyond confirmation of receipt of the application. We've been stuck at 'interview ready to be scheduled' for the i-751 since May.

I assume you didn't have an interview for the AOS then? Generally, since 2018, those who didn't have an interview for their AOS will have one for their ROC instead. If that's what your case is like then the transfer to NBC was not for any backlog/workload reasons, but because you will have an interview. Therefore I also assume your status at one point chenged to "ready to be scheduled for an interview".

Right, we didn't have an interview for the AOS. Like you, I'd assumed we'd be interviewed for ROC (though hoped we might luck out and not be interviewed for either!). The USCIS letter stated that the NBC transfer was due to work backlog in Vermont, so it's a bit muddled. 

 

We've been at 'ready to be scheduled for interview' since May 13 for the i-751. Is it possible they would hold off on scheduling the interview until the N-400 is reviewed so it could be a joint interview for both? Or just a general interview backlog due to the pandemic?

So right now all we have is an 18 month extension letter that expires in 2 days. You’re saying that we don’t have to do anything and just keep waiting.
 

I get that the USCIS moves at their own pace and sometimes that may be glacial but I see this as a potential problem. For example, my wife is in the process of applying for jobs, but we are at the point if a potential employer asks her for proof that she is in the country legally (Which they are required to do), she will not be able to provide any government document to substantiate that.
