Not exactly; some of that 17 days could count time at the NVC but before a case # is assigned. But generally speaking, once you have a case # from NVC, your case will be shipped to the embassy in the next shipment (unless you got it only a day or two before, or are at one of the small number of consulates that don't seem to follow the every other Tuesday shipment schedule; the only one I know for sure is China).

NVC provided us with 2 numbers one is long starting NPL(followed by 10 digits) and second 433(followed by 8 digits) .  they said one is for them and second for embassy. Am I right in thinking that  433xxxx number is case number?

The second without the letters is the invoice number which I understand is a system needed number and isn’t something that you really need.

BD Day 5:  Interview 

 

Tell the Dr when the interview is and give case number and they will back into the days needed

Schedule the Consulate Interview first and then call the Dr Office to schedule medical apts.

My NOA2 notice states that it is valid till August 26, 2019.  NOA2 came back unexpectedly fast..  We already made traveling plans together for June, July and August..  Does anyone know if it is possible to schedule the interview past August 26, 2019?  Would they allow extension on NOA2?

For anyone Trying To track Packages Through DHL the following Reference code worked for me MMM YYYY(Followed by a sequence of either A,B,C,D, it seems like they correspond to different weeks within that month) 
For ALBANIA i did APR 2019A APR 2019B MAY 2019A,B ect  ect and got to see different packages that had arrived a week apart.

You'll need to contact the Embassy as they have the power now to extend your NOA2 validity date. Most do but some can be hardheaded.

Thank you Greenbaum.  We don't want to take any chances..  We will change our travel plans so that we can be at the embassy a week before the deadline.

And what happens if the medical only can be scheduled after the interview?

 

I recommend that you find out what your dates are that are open for interview. Then 5-10 BD before have the medical. Once you have confirmed your medical exam date then go and schedule your interview. It's a lot safer this way and will not delay the beneficiary.
