I applied last night for N400 (citizenship),

Everything went smoothly. I got my unlifting of conditions approved and my anniversary was like a week ago.

Does anybody know what to expect and how long it takes when you do it online ?

It depends on how busy your local field office is and how soon they can get you in for the interview.

Yeah. I was asking because I saw many cases (3 or 4 lol) that were approved in a very short span of time.

My case is very straight forward, I mean I am not divorced or married in the past, same case with my spouse. I have never committed any violations, I have my permanent residency card uplifted, and I never left the country, not even to go see my family. So I don't know if that speeds up the process or I still have to wait a year like everyone else.

Blessings!

Yeah that's what I thought. The website says that it will take roughly a year, which I know  it is not true.

When I applied for "uplifting" it was supposed to take over 2 years and I got it in a little bit over a year.

But let's see what happens.

I will keep you posted!

Whether or not it’s “true” depends on your FO. Mine is San Francisco, and it does take about a year. I know this from following the timelines of people on VJ who have filed N400 there.  Some FOs do end up having it shorter than what the website estimates but not all of them.

Hi

I am living in LA COUNTY and filed online in 11/26/2018. I got a online notification saying interview was scheduled on 03/08/2019.

It is showing 9 months waiting time on my USCIS account, didnt expect that I can get an interview that fast.

Yeah. Most of the cases that have been followed online from people that I have met have been processed very fast.

It seems online is faster for some but again all depends on the work load at the field office.

It really depends which field office you were sent to. My co-worker applied earlier than me but her case was assigned to LA office which was different as mine,  so she hasnt been scheduled till now yet.

You can always see your family, going out of country is okay as long as it is less than 6 month and you need the days requirements.  So, if you would like, go ahead and visit your family.
