Hello everyone, so happy to share this information and hopefully it will be helpful for some. Our file was received on March 4th 2019, it was moved to NBC on March 30th 2020, the reason for moving was to `expedite` the process, but nothing happened until July 28th 2021 when we received an interview notification scheduled for August 19th in Newark NJ, for some reason we didn't get any email about the interview, the case was never updated online either, it would still show the previous state (case was moved...) so that letter by regular mail was the only notification, so glad we didn't miss this letter. We got to the USCIS building in Newark 15 minutes earlier and went in immediately, we checked in and about 20 minutes later someone called us. The agent was a young hispanic woman, she was extremely polite, the interview went smoothly, she said she just wanted to confirm that we were still together and that she had all the proofs we had sent before, she said she had enough documents already (bank statements, 2 cars, credit cards, photos, apartment lease), she asked us our names, dates of birth, when we met, places we have visited together and then she said that she was going to approve our case immediately, that moment felt just incredible, it was like the best of dreams, this has been such a long trip, we got married in June 2016 and started the process right away, I never applied to citizenship and I am not planning to do so anytime soon, I think we want to have a break from USCIS forms and interviews, so far we are extremely happy and we want to enjoy this feeling before the final step. The interview itself was pretty quick, probably about 15 minutes.

I just want to say thank you to all the people here, reading all your stories has been very helpful for us, I wish the best of lucks to all you still waiting, I have been reading about others approval since march 2020, it was frustrating at times to see that our case was just not changing at all, but don't worry too much, we just have to be patient and then all of the sudden everything changes.

so its now been a year since our case was transferred to NBC, Lee's Summit , MO as of today.

We haven't got a notice since. Called USCIS when the time was 24 months to process. the agent agreed it was outside processing time that day, While waiting for the call back, they changed the time to 36.5 months. So when the Tier 2 agent called back , all they told my wife is that she is within normal processing timing.  UGH....

Now I see the time has changed to 49 months.

We are not sure what to do next other than wait. The next challenge coming is she will have to get another I-551 stamp again this year.

We got one in December 2020. (at which time they took away her expired 2 year green card. The current I-551 will expire again this December.

Anyone have advice? USCIS is no help....is it time to call senator?  I see a few others here are still waiting as well.

Its just frustrating to see April 2019 and May 2019 start to get processing while we are still stuck.

Anyone else still waiting? Next month will the one year anniversary of when I was first notified I was awaiting my interview scheduling by the New York City office.

Currently waiting on a call back about an Infopass appointment as the stamp I received in December 2020 is set to expire again. Been advised it may take 30 days for them to call me to set up an appointment, which I didn't realize.

I'm travelling out of the country for two weeks in early November (returning on 18th November). If I'm unable to get an appointment (and the updated stamp) prior to departing for my trip, there won't be any issue with me returning to the US if my stamp expires mid-December, right?

I'm still waiting. 587 days since "waiting to schedule interview" notification....

I also didn't realize it would take that long to set up an Infopass appointment. My stamp is running out in January. Feeling a little helpless just sitting around waiting for things to happen!

Sorry that you've been waiting so long, that's truly a long wait you've had.

I only really think about it when my stamp comes up for renewal, or (pre-pandemic) we have travel planned, or whenever I have to go to the dreaded DMV etc. Otherwise I just get on with day to day life. It would be really nice for it to not be a consideration any more though! I have considered applying for citizenship to see if that would prod them into action, but I'm loathe to give them more money to just sit at the back of a new queue!

We'll all get there eventually....I hope! I'm meant to leave the country in early February for a family wedding, so I'll have to keep on top of scheduling an infopass appointment. It should be fine to try and schedule it before my current stamp expires, right? Or will they make me wait until my current one has run out before giving me a new stamp?

I also don't think of it too much, but I'd definitely like to be done with it! And I need to save some money before applying for citizenship!

The person I spoke to at USCIS this morning said they could have the NYC office call me to set up an appointment as my stamp was within 60 days of expiring, but I don't know if that's the standard everywhere or just for the NYC office.

In the past I've always timed it so that I get a new stamp around a month before the current one expires, and they've always just extended it for a year.

We are still waiting. My wife's 551 stamp will expire end of November. I guess we need to call right away for Infopass appointment?  Previously we were only allowed to call 30 days before it has expired. Has this changed?  The problem is in Georgia they have tied the expiration of Driver's license to it.  We got our notice letter for "waiting for interview" in August 2020.....we tried our congressman, and were told nothing can do, waiting for the local Atlanta office to book the interview.
