I see why Republicans are so concerned about election fraud. They don't want any competition! The Democrat candidate should automatically be given the seat. Another election would be unfair, at give the Republicans another chance to outspend the Democrats.

If you feel the dems should just be handed the win in this election, why not all elections?  I can’t do more to help you understand your own words, which have meaning.

 

I, on the other hand, would prefer to see a fair election process take place.

You have obviously been only reading the national news that has only scratched the surface of this whole debacle. Unlike you I am on the ground just 1 county over from where this has been going on. So I know what has been going on and what has been written about this thing. Dowliss has worked for both parties in the past in the Bladen & Robeson County area doing vote harvesting which is Illegal in NC but legal in other states.

I wasn't referring to any other election. The Republicans cheated in this case, and should suffer the consequences. Why should any candidate, Republican or Democrat, who follows the rules, be forced to run a second time, just because the other side cheated?

I think there are a couple of good reasons. First, it does democracy good to do democracy well. That means an opportunity to run an election as it should be run -- free, fair and above reproach. If any election is likely this year (or next) to be watched carefully to ensure it hews to propriety, it's this one. Both sides have a lot riding on it. 

 

Second, because the election was tainted, we will never know what the true tally was. Maybe Harris would have won had the election been fair, maybe not. We can't know. The only way to know is to run it again. Maybe Harris will win, and if he does, shame on those who would put party over propriety. But I would not take away their right to have their values reflected just because I think their reasoning is asinine.

Absolutely it should be another face-off with a different candidate.  What if a better candidate is out there, but simply didn’t run the first time?    Bernie Sanders was cheated out of his opportunity to run, and I would have loved to see him run against Trump, but not just be handed the presidency because he was cheated.

 

The opposing party should not just be given a default win.  They should earn it via the confidence of the voters.

So with the current and everlasting Trump/Russian cheating narrative we should kick him out and place Hillary on her WH throne since she was cheated (they will need to put in safety bars though so she will not fall down).

 

Btw, I do not agree with vote harvesting in any form by any party, but it is a little hypocritical to allow it in states like CA that appears to have swung many seats to the Dems and denounce it here.  I know, states control elections, but it is a joke to allow political operatives to collect ballots and then later "submit" them, vote harvesting is simply wrong.
