Or have most of you gotten your NVC case number and invoice numbers by 8 weeks or before? I've been waiting 6 weeks and I'm trying gauge how much longer I should expect to wait. Thanks.

We received our Case# and invoice ID# within 2.5 weeks.  I don't understand their system.  The first time I called, the person I spoke to asked me to call back in 6-8 weeks.  I called right back the next week & was given my numbers.  I would try calling again.

I just called them 3 days ago and they told me to call back next week and then again the week after (if I don't get the case number next week). I'm just anxious to get the ball rolling on this. All this waiting is crazy.

Wow 2.5 weeks? Lucky you.

should have been able to get it from calling by now

always am amazed by this  process (if i can call it that)

it should be a step by step

  1. file
  2. they receive
  3. they cash check
  4. they imput documents
  5. they assign to an officer the packet
  6. the office reviews
  7. if RFE is needed,  you are informed
  8. after RFE is answerd and is approved case goes to NVC
  9. NVC receives
  10. NVC assigns case number
  11. officer imputs data into that case in order that cases are received

I realize the number of applications is up by over 2 million from a few years ago but more applications means more fees

more fees mean larger budget

larger budget should mean more employees

but unforunately illegals pay no fees and we pay for them

At this time it’s taking exactly 8 weeks. Our 8 weeks was February 4 and they sent email February 1. Everyone I was tracking was on the same timeline.

I know it must be frustrating.  Don't give up.  Keep calling.  It's their job.  I hope you get your # by next week.  To me, it seems like you have been waiting a little bit longer than most.  So sorry for that.

I called every other day until I had the case number.  Just keep calling.

That's because you are K1! You guys get them faster than CR1/ IR1! Best of luck :)

I am at the 6 week mark too!  CR1 and IR1 are different than K1.  The K1 filers get case numbers in 2-3 weeks whereas we wait 6-8.  Frustrating for sure, but you should be getting one in the next 1-3 weeks.

That makes a lot of sense because K-1's also seems to be able to get interview dates faster.  My best wishes to you...…….

Interesting...I see the NVC received your case just 3 days before they received mine...so it would be nice to hear from them before 2/28...all I can do is wait. Thanks for your reply.
