Is having a thyroid nodule gonna be a problem as well? Ugh frikin illnesses

They are only concerned about communicable diseases (TB, HIV,  STDs), drug use/abuse

YMMV

You should be good to go, make sure your spouse adds you to his insurance at the earliest possible time, you can avoid issues doing it sooner rather than later, at my company I had to add her within 30 days

Not sure if any of you here in this forum has been diagnosed with Epilepsy but will this be causing a problem?😅

It won't be an issue.  SLEC follows CDC guidelines which is mostly checking for communicable diseases.

Didnt ask you of medications whatsoever? Thats great

The form that is used is the same form the whole works over as it comes from the US government, not from the doctor. Obviously I had to list the condition and which medication I take. But it is a non- issue. Epilepsy is not a grounds for denial. It’s not a communicable disease. My advice is absolutely relevant. I was also worried that it would be a problem, cause a delay or something with my visa. I’m posting to reassure you because I absolutely understand your concern. But the medical is not about things like that. The medical is purely about looking for things that would affect a visa such as TB, STDs, etc. The medical is the same no matter where you take it in the world (apart from the cost - that varies from place to place!). The doctors must follow the exact guidelines laid out by immigration. They must do the same tests. They must give the same shots. They must ask the same questions.

Haha all good. Well at least it’s still good to know it wasn’t an issue in their country. Here’s hoping that it won’t be an issue to a complicated country like PH.😅

I promise you it won’t be.

Not the best introduction to being here for the first time. Take Duffy's reply with a grain of salt. He's on my non watch list as his subject matter doesn't match what I find mentally stimulating.

Here is some background on what is checked during the medical exam. Scroll a little ways to see the medical portion.

so why did you respond in the Philippines Section?

In fairness to JFH (and anyone else) who responds to threads in the regional section:

When the thread is first posted, it comes up on the main homepage, and at the moment of posting (and for a bit of time afterwards) it will remain on the main homepage---the thread doesn't list that it's in any "regional section" of the forums until someone actually clicks on it to read it---and then ONLY if that person even notices the page headers above the thread pointing it's listed in a regional section.

Regardless of that, however, VJ members can post a response to any thread they like, no matter what section it's in (as per VJ TOS).

Regional sections are for threads needing more country-specific responses...but that doesn't mean they are threads that are "elite only" for members from that specific country.
