Do you guys have ticks up there?  We don't really have them here.  People from other states always ask about flea and tick prevention and we're like... meh not really an issue.  Which is awesome.  I grew up with pets needing flea protection.  But in all honesty I've never seen a live tick

Yes, we have them here. We had to stop geocaching in the late summer because we found a couple on us. There is a big deer population here and they travel in wooded areas. A lot of geocaches in North Dakota are on the shelter belt (these long stretches of trees between farm fields) and they are rife with ticks.
