N-400 Jan 2019 Filers

Hello everyone!

I filed my n-400 online on January 24th. I got a receipt notice on email today. My ROC is still pending since Aug. 2017.🤦🏻‍♀️

Are you applying in base of marriage and that's why you need tax returns? I'm applying on my own, not on base of marriage, should I upload my tax returns as well?

si mon! we are. And it asks for tax returns. I'd just rather be safe than sorry since they want 3 years worth.

I just filled my N-400 today. ROC still pending, but since I already have to wait for that like 6 months, it doesn't  hurt waiting a bit longer and get the citizenship and (finally) finish all this process.

You can answer yes, so you can fill out the application.  And, submit the application on or after 5 Feb.  (I don't think the filing 90-days in advance applies here.)

Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! That was what I'm afraid of. I sure thought that they go based off of the green card anniversary and not necessarily the marriage date. Taxes got done today, uploaded to our citizenship app, and on the last screen it again reiterates that the marriage isn't 3 years old.  So me being paranoid, I may play it safe and wait until Feb 5 so as to go through the whole process with interviews for them to come and say "oh wait, the timing was off, you shouldn't have been able to file cuz you weren't married long enough at time of filing" etc.

 

I guess I join the February thread - but I'll still be watching this one! Thanks for your insight!

I decided to file anyway and added my info to the list (JUST CLICK QUOTE for those who don't know how to add their info). At the end of the day they go based on the green card anniversary not the marriage anniversary AND we aren't actually eligible until April when we will actually be at 3 years for GC stuff. Also found a fellow VJ member who, similar to us, filed within the 90 days even though their marriage was not at the 3 year mark yet. May we all have a little more patience now that the last leg of our visa journey has begun!

 for work it just asks you the jobs and dates you've worked including times unemployed or between jobs, not necessarily proof though.

 

For showing residence we had a copy of the apartment lease and then our house deed, house mortgage info, and corresponding utility bills that have both our names to all that.

If you are in jam, have your landlord write up a statement that you've lived in x place for x amount of time.

My consern s that they ask for 5 years although we are filling based on 3 years and when I provide the information for 3 years the system.says that the application may be delayed if i continue.. I would like to know how online fillers are handeling this glitch

If you are filing based on marriage you'll only need to worry about showing that you've lived together for the 3 years. The first "2" years (of the 5 they are looking for) that we weren't married I just put the foreign address in Nicaragua where my husband had lived before, is that what your situation is?

Did biometrics today in Dallas. My appointment was at one, got there at 12:30 and there was literally nobody in there. I was in out of there in less than 15 minutes.
