I plan to be no where near a retail establishment from Thanksgiving thru around Dec 28.

 

Its sheer madness and disruptive of my daily routines

I will be hiking in the SW, so Black Friday/Cyber Monday will pass by quite uneventfully for me, but I will be contributing to the economy by taking a vacation.

Last year husband convinced me to go out on Thanksgiving evening. We stood in a peaceful line at Microsoft while people were taking out laptops and consoles by the multi bagful. We did get a good deal that night, so it was worth it. This year though there's nothing remotely interesting on Black Friday directly and most retailers are already offering deep discounts. Get yourself to Sears (before it's gone) and Penneys (before that's also gone). They are offering massive deals. I picked up over $150 worth of purses for $30. I'll be heading out again tonight to cram in the majority of my holiday shopping after hubby gets home, while the stock is full and people are busy traveling for Thanksgiving. I will just be too busy this year to do shopping any later, the rest will be done online.

Sears is one of our favorite stores, and the nearest non-closed one is now approximately a zillion miles away.

How do they (& KMart) expect to stay in business if they have no stores for people to go to?

I purchased a updated and highly upgraded Lenova Carbon Generation 6 laptop on Monday from Lenova,  That is when there Black Friday deals started, I had been waiting 2 weeks for it.

 

Other than that I will be at work on Friday, we are in busy season at work.  

 

I will make that money while it is easy pickings, I been through the hard times back in 2009 to 2011 (Obama Era).

Sounds like something that won't work if the Internet signal or WiFi or whatever isn't working.

Currently in the FL Keys and there is not much in the way of retail here except for tee shirt shops, and bars.

 

I'm going fishing, so guess I'll be buying bait and tackle.

My buddy went out last week from FLL.  Got a couple coolers full of blackfin tuna.  Can’t wait to go!

    For me, Black Friday is like a dry run for the zombie apocalypse. Lock all doors, grab some cold leftover food, and stay in the basement all day watching grown men in football helmets destroy each other. So many similarities.

Honestly no idea. A family member will be laid off of the soon to be closing Sears within a week of xmas, no opportunity to transfer, no benefits.. nothing. So many people will be receiving that bad news this year. I hear that Penneys will be the next one to go, and by far they are offering amazing deals.. a shame as I like shopping there. All my shopping is now done! So nice to not worry about it.
