Medical exam: When to get it

How far in advance can we get the medical exam done?

 

We don't have an interview yet, and I am planning on visiting my husband for a couple weeks.

I am worried that I might get scheduled a week after my return.

 

If I do the medical two days before the interview, is that enough time for the results to get processed in time for the interview?

Since the medical exam date is critical to the rest of the process (medical exams expire) it is best to get it as close to the interview as possible.  There have been situations where due to delays, the medical expires before POE.  That will at a minimum require another full medical exam including fees.  Don't do it more than a week or so before the interview.

 

In the Philippines we carry the medical results to the interview so we can complete medical the day before and be fine.  Some embassies deliver the results and that may take weeks.  I am not familiar with Spain but others here are.  I'm sorry I can't give you a definite answer but in some places it is possible.

I'm not sure about your country, but in Taiwan, it takes 2 full weeks to get the medical processed....and that doesn't include transporting it to the consulate.

And in Manila, the packet is generally hand delivered by the beneficiary...so people can schedule the interview even 1 day after the medical.

It's best to check out typical timelines for medical delivery for you embassy/consulate.

This ia pretty country specific and actually physician specific.  There are 4 panel physicians in Canada and all give results back on different timeframes.  So check you local results.  Its best to have it as close to interview as possible to have results back in time.  The visa expiration will be tied to the medical date.

I have read the results take one week. So you have to at least do it one week before your interview. You have to go get them at the hospital as well. And it expires 6 months after you got it.

You'll need your interview appointment letter in order to make the medical appointment. Schedule the appointment at least one week before the interview so that they will have the results in time.
