Hi Everyone,

I-751 Application mailed through USPS on 11/17/2018 to Arizona Lockbox

I-71 Application received by USCIS on 11/19/2018 and check cashed on 11/24/2018

Text notification of my case number on 11/26/2018 and my case number starts with LINXXXXXX

Checked the case status online on 11/26/2018 and it reads, uscis received your application and we mailed you the NOA on 11/19/2018(application received date). If you do not receive your NOA by 12/19/2018 then please contact the USCIS.

No NOA in mail till 12/27/2018. So i called USCIS contact center on 12/27/2018 and informed the representative that i did not received my NOA. And i told her i am worried that i might lose my job and my driver's license is about to expire soon.  She verified my personal info and told me that USCIS has never sent me the NOA. And she said she will put a service request on my behalf for non delivery of NOA.   Provided me with the service request number.

On 01/09/2019 the service request was assigned to an officer  and was completed on the same day (01/09/2019). I monitored this by creating an account on USCIS website. one can create an account if they have a case number available.

On 01/11/2019 i called the USCIS representative to check on the service request outcome, i was told that the NOA was mailed to my on 01/10/2019.

On 01/17/2019 the NOA was in my mailbox. it is 18 months extension.

I was nervous as my driver's license was about to expire. Thank god i can have it renewed now.

After reading the posts here, i would consider myself extremely lucky that , both the time i have got hold of polite and helpful USCIS representatives over the phone.

So guys if you think that 30 days has elapsed since the day you mailed your application to USCIS and did not receive the NOA , then either call the USCIS and put a service request or do a service request online.  Applicants who do not know their case number then no worries, just have your A-Number , DOB. SSN, Address when you call. Everything will get pulled up on the representative's computer with your A-Number. If the representative says that she can't find any info then do not panic, say thank you and hang up and wait for an hour and call again. you might get a different representative who can help you.

If USCIS needs the Bio-metrics then we will get a notice, so Do Not Worry about it at this point.

FYI: If you get a i-551 stamp in your passport then you have to surrender your green card to the uscis. NOA is valid only with the expired greencard.

If anyone needs to have their passport stamped with I-551 then just walk-in to the local USCIS office. Most of the times they are not busy as it shows on the websites. Stamping your passport is a matter of 2 min work. You need to have valid/expired green card , valid passport and good attitude to please/convince an uscis officer to consider you without any appointment. In fact we are all human beings out there to help each other.

I hope my post will help others who are in the same situation as i was .

Take Care.

So still haven't gotten a reply from my E-request I did back in Dec 19,2018 but I just checked my USCIS account online and it shows this

"On January 18, 2019, your inquiry about a notice that you did not receive, referral number SRxxxxxxxxxxTSC, was assigned to an officer for response." Well that's good I guess right? but I had the same message back in Dec 20,2018 that it was assigned to an officer for response? So they just passed my request off to another officer???? :wow:

I cannot wait till I can finally apply for citizenship this November 2019

They should if it shows up as an option to choose when you enter your zip code. You can also request USCIS customer service to help you obtain infopass within Philly. If you show that you have an emergency or could face hardship, they usually work with you.

Just an update on getting an info pass:

I tried to get one from 11:45pm to 12:30am yesterday using the auto refresher, no luck. This morning, I refreshed the website manually around 6:00am for 15 mins, no luck. Then, I just decided to check again at 7:15am, a spot for same day appointment showed up and I secured it (have your A# and receipt# ready all the time!). I went to the appointment 30 mins ahead, no one was in line, waiting room is empty, so the whole process was quick. Got my passport stamped (did not take my expired green card), and asked about the case status. The officer first thought Nebraska had already sent out both NOA1 and Biometrics Appointment letter to me back in Nov. Then, he went back talked to someone else, came back and told me that nothing has sent to me yet because Nebraska is new to the I-751 process and is still trying to figure things out. Well, he said the notice will eventually come, and if stamp expired, come back get another one.

At least, I have peace in mind now. Good luck to everyone!

Exciting and strange updates.

We received NOA1/i797 today.

Timeline

- Sent to Texas lockbox Nov 15th

- Delivered Nov 16th

- Money Order cashed Nov 23rd

- Called USCIS Nov 27th for receipt number

- Called USCIS on Dec 15th for missing NOA1. Talked to Tier 2 and they opened a request because NOA1 was never sent. We were told that we will hear back in 5 day but no news

- Called Dec 20th, we were told that we have to allow full 30 days

- Submitted an e-request on January 9th for missing notice

- January 10th GC expired

- USCIS on January 13th, agent refused to help with infopass and told us that we have to wait until February 9th for our e-request to get processed.

- January 15th made an infopass appointment for 28th if January.

- Called USCIS on January 17th and talked to a really helpful agent who informed us that our first expedited request was processed on January 14th. We should expect I797 with in 30 days and biometrics appointment within 60 days if needed.

- FINALLY Received I797 aka NOA1 today January 18th. BTW the notice date on our notice is 1/14/2018. That's the date when they processed our initial Tier 2 request we made on phone. So, they actually never sent receipt notice in November.

What a wild ride... I wish all of you very best of luck!

Feel free to message me if I can help in anyway.

Thanks all!

We are still in the e-request “has been assigned to an officer” at VSC phase, but I’m glad to see the NOAs are finally going out for a number of November folks. USPS informed delivery has been a great help in scanning for and making sure we haven’t checked for mail, for those who don’t have it.
