It’s so exciting for us to be in November now! A month has officially gone by since my fiancé and I filed. 😳

That's crazy! Just like 7 more to go!

Did you get your paper NOA1 yet?

I did! Was actually just thinking about posting an update. Received the paper NOA1 official receipt notice in the mail just yesterday.

Updated progress so far

Mailed: October 18

Delivered to Dallas: October 19

Check cashed: October 25

Text message: October 26

Received via mail official receipt notice I-797c: November 2

Official notice NOA1 date: October 25

Now i'm hoping the next few months go by quickly. Not looking forward to this long wait.

At least we can all say we’re in the same boat. 😅 How exciting will it be for everyone when the very first “I got my NOA2!!” post pops up here?!

Also, did anyone else panic the whole time they were putting together their I129F that USCIS was going to update the form? Since September, the I129F page on their website has said “a new form is on the way”, and I worried myself sick that it would come out before we got our NOA1 and that we’d have to start over. 😣 November now and still no change to the form though lol.

We have seen that sometimes they will renew a form that expires and we have seen it continue to be used until such time as a new form is release. In any event, they will most likely use the start date of the new rendition of that form and they will tell you when they will discontinue a form. All updates to forms can be tracked here: https://www.uscis.gov/forms-updates  If you see a form that will soon expire and it may expire after it's intended use (Embassy interview) then it's best to wait till you are closer to your interview.

All previous editions are accepted anyway. The OMB (Office of Management and Budget) expiration date only matters internally for the USCIS. That expiration date has nothing to do with whether or not it will be acceptable for you to use. The edition date is what matters. The accepted edition dates for the forms are listed on the site where the forms can be found and downloaded. The I-134 states this. > https://www.uscis.gov/i-134

Hi,

Did you get an update regarding with your case?

I did, yes. They returned the packet right away and said to just sign it and send it back in. It's been about 3 weeks and we still haven't received the packet yet, but they did say to give it until the 11th and if we still haven't got it there is a number to call.

I’m really sorry to hear that. Atleast they sent the packet right away. Yes, you can call USCIS Contact Center at 1-800-375-5283 to follow-up. Stay positive and Goodluck.🙏🏻

Thank you! I was frustrated my fiancé missed such an important part, but that won't get us anywhere so I'm trying to stay positive. At least we didn't have to wait months for them to send it back, that's always something. :)

No RFE or denial or anything, just fixing it up and starting your application fresh. It’s for the best, I think! But that is exactly why I did all the research and put the entire packet together myself lol. My fiancé probably would have done something similar.

Our case was just received and we have a receipt number. What next?

 Thanks all

You should get a NOA1 by mail in the next week or so, and then it’s the long wait for the NOA2! Enjoy!

Check the NOA1 for the payment information. If that says you’ve paid then don’t worry.

as for checks, they convert it to a digital transaction and bill your account like that so the check will never actually cash.

taken from the I-129F instructions:

Notice to Those Making Payment by Check. If you send us a check, USCIS will convert it into an electronic funds transfer (EFT). This means we will copy your check and use the account information on it to electronically debit your account for the amount of the check. The debit from your account will usually take 24 hours and your bank will show it on your regular account statement.
