As noted above, the consul, depending on the embassy does like to see them or may not care. We submitted total of like 8 pages worth of screen shots showing a timeline during the processing. And yes, they do read the chats if they want to. My husband was asked "who is calling who this name in the texts" as we had our names saved as different things other than our regular names so he wanted to check but shows they do read them or at least scan through.

Does it all have to be from the petitioners profile/ phone or can it be from the benif too? Does it matter?

Shouldn't matter I wouldn't think. They are the same messages so. I did the screen shots and sent it all since I had the most time to collect the information; but shouldn't make a difference really.

I had them all done from my phone, the beneficiary, as I'm the most tech savvy and I was doing the paperwork (I'm an archivist)

We brought four Facebook messenger screen shots to the interview. One where we fought about which kind of dog we were going to have, one where we argued about the hair color of future children, one where he was upset with me for not remembering his rugby schedule, one where I bashed New York for not being able to produce any winter Olympians (he had just ranted about how Winter Olympics is insignificant, which is not an acceptable thing to say to any Scandinavian).

I was in a hurry collecting them and realized only after the interview that maybe we should've submitted something more loving.

You gave him sh*t 😂 lol

We didn't submit any chat logs.

In the I129F they just want proof that you've met in person within 2 years. Plane tickets, boarding passes, entry stamps, receipts, photos together.

I'd made around 6 or 7 separate trips to the USA, had numerous pictures of us together (including family) and my partner had also visited the UK once to visit me, plus we had a trip to Canada together. I didn't see any point in providing chat logs, and we got approved with no problems or RFE.

Chat records might be useful at interview, especially if you've not spent much physical time together. But having watched 90 visa you realise that lots of chat logs etc don't prove a genuine or good relationship. I'm not sure what they'd look for, other than material they may be able to catch you out with at interview (if it wasn't true). They'd be easy to fake too, without any expenditure, unlike eg a physical trip, vacation etc that would be expensive.

I thought they were looking at content and relationship dev, but it occured to me now they may be looking for consistency more than actual details of what was written?

Is it better to find lovey dovey stuff or one screenshot/month over the period of the relationship?

They have to process thouands of petitions. I believe they look at key words and discussions and to consider the overall package.

I guess it really makes no difference since they won't tell us, for obivous reasons. What matters is you simply copy/paste and send it in. I did it and had no RFE so far.

For anyone using Line App to make video calls which doesn’t give call logs you can export your chat history (gives you about 6 months at a time) which shows call duration too and copy and paste into an excel document that way you can edit and remove any “sensitive” chat and Show call logs.

Ill be sending in a much abbreviated version with samples for each month. Some days we don’t text but call for hours every day.

For London this is a complete waste of time. They will not look at it!
