USCIS has sent approval letters for my husband's AOS and he's also received his EAD card and an employment SSN#, does anyone know what we need to do next? Do we need to apply for a normal SSN# with the Social Security Administration? Or is the number he received his permanent SSN? Also his EAD card expires within a year, will he receive a greencard before it expires? I've tried looking on the USCIS website for further instructions but I'm having a hard time finding them. Thank you in advance for any answers we can get!

His SSN is permanent.

If your AOS has been approved - do you have interview scheduled? Usually it takes not so long after the interview to receive a green card.

Once you receive the green card, verify it is the correct two year conditional card and then you can go back to the SS office and get the 'regular' social card with the "DHS approval for work required" removed.

Then really that's it for almost two years until you go through ROC.

How is your AOS approved if you haven't gotten an interview scheduled yet? You get the appointment notice in the mail.

I'm not even sure because I don't know how all of this really works. But we applied for the I-131 Application for Travel,  I-765 Application for Employment Authorization and the I-485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status. We got all 3 NOA's approved but nothing was said about an interview. Is there someone I can call to find out about an interview? Because I know his EAD card expires in one year and I don't now what do to after that?

Thank you so for any suggestions!

What? Does he have the Green card or just NOA1s? if he just has the 3 NOA1s, then he is not approved for AOS. Unless there is something I am not understanding correctly....

He doesn't have a green card. The only thing he's received in the mail so far was the 3 NOA's and an EAD card along with a "employment only" SSN. His EAD card expires exactly a year from now so I was wondering how we go about getting a green card. I thought the AOS was the application for a green card?

AOS is the application for the green card. What does the NOA for i485 says? Does it say accepted or approved? If it says approved, then it is approved and GC will be mailed later on.

The NOA for I-485 does say approved, that will be so awesome if all we have to do is just wait for GC! I just wasn't sure if we needed to do anything to get an interview scheduled. Or if it's absolutely necessary to have an interview? The only appointment we've had was for his biometric screening back in November of last year. He hasn't had any official interview for a GC.

They do approve AOSs without an interview depending on cases and it seems your husband is one of those lucky ones.

Expect to receive the GC in a month or so.

If the notice says approved you were one of the lucky ones that didn't have to do the interview and should receive your GC in the mail soon. Congrats!!!
