Is it normal that I don't any updates on the new site (https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/) apart from that the case was received last year, and on the old site and case tracker app it just says Validation Error(s) or something like that even though I enter the correct numbers?

I'm just wondering if anyone else's having the same issue as I see some people seem to be receiving emails when their status updates.

Same errors showing for me as well. Spoke to a rep some time ago who said that the updates on the website haven't synced across all USCIS platforms for all cases so that is why some applicants are seeing cases on https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov and others are seeing cases on http://egov.uscis.gov

Thanks for your reply and sharing the info! I guess those who are not seeing online updates (including myself) have to wait for physical letters to come through.

Just came back from my biometrics appointment with my kids. Original appointment was scheduled for 3/27/2019 but my kids have exams starting and would not be able to attend the appointment so I decided to do a walk-in at the center and try my luck.

Got there at 7:50am, center opens at 8am sharp but there were a lot of people already lined up waiting on the center to open its doors. Joined the line when it got down to about 5 persons left to walk up to the security officer and, when it was my turn, I asked him about staying to get my biometrics done and explained the dilemma with my kids and exams. He was really nice about it but made sure to let me know that there would be a wait because they needed to complete the appointments for the day before seeing the walk-ins....fair enough. I'm glad I stayed and now biometrics has been completed for us...now, on to the next steps in the process 🤞

Bio appt today at local Application Support Center: simple, fast, smooth, pleasant experience!! In & out in 15mins. WAYYY easier/ less stressful than expected lol Hubby came with me, no probs.

We arrived 1/2 hr early, they asked for appt letter & took my drivers license for ID,  I filled out basic info sheet & was asked to remove nose stud piercing for photo.  (never had to remove it for prev. biometrics)  They took all fingerprints (electronic scan) & did photo. Was given paperwork for “receipt” to keep for our records. BOOM DONE!! We’re excited to see how long until new GC arrives!

SIDE NOTE: USCIS website doesn’t show ANY of our updates, only reflects I-751 case received date. We’re OK with that because we know it’s all moving forward whether they update their website or not!! Happy to see CSC is catching up on their backlog of cases YAYY!!

Hello y'all! :)

Considering we have all been in marriage for 3+ years, is anyone planning on applying for citizenship before 2nd GC arrives?
Do you guys have any details how that exactly works in situations like this?

Cheers!

Your citizenship application is processed at your local office.

When you apply for citizenship while you have a pending I-751 your local office will request your I-751 file for combo processing.

You have then essentially lost your place in queue for the I-751 processing and gained a new place at the end of the citizenship process queue at your local office.

Now, depending on how long it takes to process citizenship applications at your local office this might speed up or slow down your timeline.

For example... El Paso, TX office processes  citizenship applications in 4-6 months (going by experiences of other people here on the forum) if someone had 8-10 months left on their estimated I-751 process and applies for citizenship at the office they will speed up things for themselves. However, in offices like Houston & LA you would have reset your timeline to 1 year+

I hope that makes sense.

Most people prefer to have a green card in hand (piece of mind and assurance) before starting a new process.

Thank you for a such detailed reply!

Yes, that makes sense and it seems like better idea to wait for a GC and then apply.

Thanks again!

You’re welcome. I see that you are at California processing Center. I have already seen some June ‘18 approvals on the Facebook group! I’m a May ‘18 filer hopefully we’re almost there!

Fellow June filer friends:

Sadly, our marriage is ending, possibly before the I-751 application is approved. We are already separated but processing the divorce may take months, so we cannot predict if the divorce will be finalized before or after the I-751 approval. My spouse is the petitioner and she attended her biometrics appointment without me last week. She has an expired green card and the 18 month extension letter.

I am willing to help her continue the journey (within the confines of the law) if she chooses to do so and I'm told she can still be approved for the I-751 if the marriage was in good faith - and it was. We have been married for three years last January and until last week were living a typical married life; co-habitating, shared insurance, renting apartment together, etc.

Does she need to take any action now, prior to the finalization of the divorce? My understanding is that if the divorce is finalized before the completion of the I-751 she will need to contact USCIS and probably submit a waiver or resubmit the I-751 application with a waiver.

If she ends up scheduled for an interview I will not be attending the interview with her regardless of the finality of the divorce. Am I correct in assuming that would doom her application? Does she have any recourse if an interview is scheduled before the divorce is final?

Neither of us are in a financial position to secure counsel.

If these are inappropriate questions for this thread, I will remove this post and repost in the right place if someone can tell me where that is.

I searched the forum but couldn't find the answers to my questions but it is possible I overlooked something.

Hello. This is my first post in VJ. It (your question) is NOT inappropriate at all. If it was in good faith and it ended then it is what it is. You should not feel left out. You can simply help her by submitting mutual documents. You do not need to attend the interview yourself. I am the same boat too but my divorce was finalized before I submitted by 1751 packet. Also, sharing my case's story below:
