aaaaalright - we are back - and APPROVED! :)

well it was very interesting to start this off...

first of all, we had to show our ID's and verify it's really us, and then he started going through the K1 application and verified

information i filled out there (such as my mom's name, birthdate, city i was born, my job back home etc) and then asked things

about my hubby (also job, divorce verification, etc) and then said ok let's talk about the GC now since you are here for that.

and so he started of saying "so i see you guys got married may 12th, do you have any pictures of the wedding?" so i handed him

the pile i printed out (which was about 20 pictures in total, 4 of the wedding, the rest of our meetings in within the last 1.5 years that i

have not showed or shared with uscis yet). with the pictures he asked us if we had a reception or why our family wasn't there.

we explained to him that we are planning on a big wedding for oct 2019, as we postponed our oct 2018 wedd to make sure all

my family/friends can fly in. he then asked us how we met, where we met the first time, how we continued our relationship.

he was amazed how many times we were able to visit each other as he said they get a lot of couples that are not as fortunate.

then he asked me how many times i have been to the US, if i had a visa before (yes F1 student visa), and asked mostly questions from

the form and verified that i knew the answers.

that was basically it :) he said it would take about 30-45 days to get the GC in the mail and that we'd have to make sure to let

them know if we move and have a new address as it'd be a struggle to re-send the card and all that! so yep, that was it.

at 11:15 we were out and it took us literally 30 min in total.

also, as it couldn't get any better, i got my first temporary job starting on monday :D wohoooo!!!! it is not my dream job, but

will do to get out the house for now! :D

Congratulations darling! ❤️

ok now my confusion officially has begun - just saw that my status changed overnight,

but not to what we expected, but it says "9 days ago, ready to schedule interview..."

stay calm - staaaaay calm!!!! 🤷‍♀️

additional info: until last night the status showed "interview has been scheduled" since oct 15,

and it's interesting how they can adjust the date now to nov 21, although it wasn't updated on 21,

and we finished the interview.... big questionmark

Day 169 today just 11 days off 6 entire months 😡 this has been the most ridiculous experience ever. Since it’s basically still under “processing time” 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄 I’m just going to wait until the receipt date shows june 14th and file a claim online, and probably open a mandamus case because this is ridiculous

I contacted my congressman and the representative that is handling my case wasn’t there so I’m calling tomorrow again cause they said they contacted USCIS and they said they had an answer for me, however when I called them, they gave me the run around. Online I’m waiting for the processing time to change to june 15 and will immediately submit a case inquiry along with a ombudsman with the state and if i don’t get a resolution within the next 10 days, i am doing a mandamus which is basically suing the federal government for a decision on a pending case. This wait has been just ridiculous and out of line and completely unacceptable. We are not asking for charity, we are paying a very expensive fee for a benefit and a right that we qualify for. Know your rights and fight for them.

I don’t think suing can win though. But worth to try

I have the right to sue for a decision on my case after the maximum amount of waiting time has passed and i have exhausted all other forms of inquiry with no success or avail. So i will retain an excellent immigration lawyer  to proceed with the suit if it comes to that. I don’t think is fair or ethical to charge people for a service that is supposed to be in the order in which case is received, not being processed accordingly. I see people here that have submitted their paperwork at the beginning of june, some in may and theirs hasn't been adjudicated either But at the same time you see people that submitted in july and theirs has been? That’s just a little ridiculous. What are they doing exactly? Just piling folders up and mini minie moeing? Especially if your case was already accepted with no additional evidence requested because you sent a complete and organized packet exactly how they instructed you to. Not fair. So we’ll exhaust every resource available.

I totally agree with you. Also sue them for processing cases differently by where you locate. If you sue them , please sue this too. Because this is extremely unfair for people like me unfortunately live in places that takes over a year while other people get Greencard by 3 months. Thanks!

While I agree they should process within the time stated, you do realize it’s not their fault if the background checks take longer to come back from the respective agencies? I remember my K1 taking longer because someone in the UK government couldn’t be bothered to reply to their request for weeks. This is mostly the reason why cases appear to not be worked in the order received. I’m not sure a law suit is the right way to go about it but I wish you luck.

Wish me luck mates.  I am waiting for a call back from Tier 2.  It was easy enough to get transferred but I am suuuuuper nervous for some reason.  I would love some good news this week.  It'd be an awesome birthday present.

So tier 2 told me we are only a few days out of processing time and that they would reply to our online inquiry on Dec 13th. So I got no information other than that they have a high volume of cases. That still doesn't explain why people who applied after us are already approved? We are getting treated worse now than when we applied for K1! I am super aggravated. I feel like it's more stressful on this end because of the massive financial impact. Especially since we lived together for 6 years in New Zealand so we luckily didn't have the stress of being apart during the K1. I don't know what to do anymore. I feel like I can't handle the stress. I don't understand why they are doing this to people.

I agree they don’t treat us fair at all. Call the congressman tomorrow and ask him to help you. I called the congressman and I got approval letter the next couple days . Though they never send me the CARD , it has been over 2 weeks now. Ridiculous. I think they gave me the approval letter because of the congressman, but they don’t give me the EAD card.  But I start to look for jobs now, the congressman said if I don’t get my card in a month, she would call them again. It is like we push , and uscis moves a bit. Really ridiculous .

But inquiries won’t work, I have submitted 2 inquiries , nothing happened at all.

Call your congressman immediately and tell them you are treated unfairly, because 93% of the people are processed but not you. He got to do something!
