ive heard far more bad than good about them.

 

its really not HARD to put the application together, and really, you are doing it anyways, its not like they come to your home and track down documents and items that are needed.

 

You are just making a middle man when its not necessary.

 

I'm a bit too much of a control freak to hand over something this important to someone else, when im fully capable of doing it myself.

When we first started the process it was really overwhelming and it seemed like a lot to deal with, but once you get started I find that most of it is self explanatory and not that hard. If there are things you struggle with, people on here are pretty helpful!

If you are nervous and not sure about all needs to be done correctly, I do recommend using a lawyer. You either can find one at AILA.org which I have.  Immigration is a federal matter and they can help you even from a different city or even state for this paperwork.

OP, it's ultimately your decision and no one can say whether you should or shouldn't. However, the vast majority of people here get through the process just fine without the services of RV. The forms are all in English and they don't ask you any questions that you don't know the answer to (and if you don't know the answers to the questions on an I-129F you perhaps don't know each other well enough to consider marriage!). The questions are not hard - it's no different from a cross between a passport application and a job application form. Follow the guides here, ask plenty of questions if you are unsure and you should be fine. 

 

Don't be fooled by the word "Rapid" in their name. You won't get your visa any faster if you use them. The only part of their process that's "Rapid" is charging your credit card.

A complicated case involves one or more of the following:

 

- criminal convictions

- previous overstay or ban

- cases where a waiver on the "meeting in person in the 2-year period prior to filing" requirement is sought

- child custody issues

 

among other things. In such cases, RapidVisa can't help but a lawyer can provide advice and assistance.

Do it yourself  just triple check it! Read EVERY SINGLE question multiple times and make sure you don’t miss anything.

it will seem stressful but just be very thorough and you’ll be fine! My fiancé and I noticed we missed a question the day before we submitted our file. Definitely just triple check it all and you’ll be fine. We just got approved May 15th with no RFE! (Requests for further evidence).

I've actually heard no good things from people who used Rapid Visa. Even people who wound up getting through the process alright with them have shared that after the fact, they realized they didn't really need them and could've managed on their own. I think services such as theirs is mostly handy if you have a complicated case.

 

We did ours on our own with no more help than other folks around here on the forums, and we've been just fine so far. We first applied for K1 back in June of last year and my husband is here now with no problems. We still have AOS/EAD/AP to complete, but so far we have not needed to outsource at all.

 

It's ultimately up to you, of course. Some people don't mind paying for extra peace of mind or just a second set of eyes. But again - unless your situation is particularly complicated, as long as you and your partner do your research and take your time with each step along the way, you'll be fine.
