NOA2 on 5/9.

NVC Received our case today 5/29. No case number yet though.

Wait at 10 business days before calling. Its highly unlikely and unusually for any to get their case number this soon. Best time to call is 7am EDT.

You fill that part out because your child is dependent on you.

But please correct me if i am wrong. Also the last 3 years of taxes will show that too, that you have a child dependent on you.

He wont be on my last 3 taxes because he was just born a few months ago. I also filled out the part about dependents and I added my child on there but theres another section that says "Beneficiary Child" thats the part I'm not sure about. I think I leave it blank.

Hello everyone, first time poster here. We received our NOA2 on May 4. Since then, no updates. I just called NVC with our receipt number, but they had no record of it. They of course suggested to wait until 6 weeks were up before calling back. Should I wait? Should I keep calling? Call USCIS? What should we be doing right now?

Thanks in advance.

I am in the same boat here. My notice date is May 5th, and it hasn't reached yet. I think it will ..we just have to be patient. I called last night too..i am definitely calling again tonight.

For some of us it's taking a bit longer. The NVC customer service rep said that uscis sends over casea in bulks, when they reach a few tbousand..so it could be ours was not in the last transfer.. who knows lol

If you can't find the answer here, maybe ask someone who is in the same situtation. Good luck!!

I am probably asking silly questions. But usually how long does it take the case to arrive NVC and then to the embassy?

Is it a must that we call and get the case number? Will they send us an email with the case number?

Usually 2-3 weeks out from NOA2 one can began calling. It's best to call, if you can, at 7 am DST as you will get in on as few as one ring. Second, calling 2-3 times during the day is not going to get you there any faster, besides it ties up the phone lines for others who need to check on their case. Good luck.

First, don't begin calling for 10 business days after you get your text message (NOA2). Second, you will need the Petitioner's and Beneficiaries full name and date of birth.

Call 603-334-0700 or 603-334-0888 Be prepared for a wait. Tell the operator that you are requesting a case number for your K-1. They will ask for the receipt number located on the left top of your I-797 (NOA2) form. Then he/she will either tell you that they have not received your case or you will be asked for the names and date of birth. If they don't have the case, you will be told it can take 30 to 45 days for them to receive it and to wait however many days/weeks and call back. That's a pad answer so ignore it. You can call back the next day or as often as you want. NVC's hours are 7am to 12 am (midnight) eastern time. Monday through Friday except Federal Holidays. Calling early at 7 am on the dot will get you in the fastest or calling late the lines to be open most often.

When you have your case number, enter it here https://ceac.state.g...ker/status.aspx and it will tell you one of three things... At NVC, In Transit, or Ready.

After getting notified and receiving your NOA2 send an email to NVC asking for them to email both you and your fiancé if any updates occur. In the past they have replied when your case was received from USCIS, another when your case number has been assigned and when your case is being sent out to your Embassy without you having to make any further queries by phone. Here is where you send this information to:

Email address: NVCINQUIRY@state.gov

Subject: Your receipt #

Body: Petitioner's Complete Name Birthday ; Beneficiary's Complete Name Birthday

Or use the online form
