yeah sadly we might not be able to get an appointment anytime this month or next month because of furloughs to USCIS coming up at the end of August 30.... Sadly congress did not come together to agree on a stimulus bill.... at this point I'm sure furloughs will happen and it will affect 13,400 USCIS employees. We all need to lower our exceptions once furloughs take place because it will stop/halt USCIS from processing cases, there will be much more longer delays or no action at all on any cases.

Yup you are right. I agree on the hopes of getting cleared for a while on any pending cases if the furloughs are going out this end of the month. I dont know how the immigration will be halted and so many people will be affected by the same. Fingers Crossed some magic happens and we can get some push from USCIS near to or after the elections in NOV this year.

O it will affect anybody seeking any sort of immigration benefit. Yes I believe once the elections are over with there will definitely be more movement from USCIS. It's all politics.

Yeah they delayed furloughs until August 30 to give Congress enough time to pass a bill for the money but they didn’t and no deal has been agreed on in Congress. They didn’t permanently take furlough off the table...so after August 30 they will be furloughed.

Not at all. I was about to get an info pass appointment yesterday when I received a call on my request and while online verifying the details with the officer the appointment was taken by someone else for stamp on your passport. Otherwise it was for tomorrow at 1PM. I felt happy that I will finally get something which will give me one more year of validity and then no luck when she said the appointment is taken.

Just an update on this one. I tried calling the USCIS support center today morning again and told the tier 1 support that I need an info pass appointment for stamping my passport as the 18months letter expired and its for employment requirement purposes. The support lady put me on to scheduling queue and said they would call me for the appointment within 5 business days. And lucky this time I got the call from them in an hour to schedule and appointment and I got an infopass appointment at ATL office next week based on the expired letter.

So i guess who ever is trying to get an infopass appointment the best is if you have expired 18 months letter they accept your request and if the slot is available they give it to you.

I will let you guys know after appointment how much validity stamp I get on my passport.

Thanks.

yeah you can keep trying as well and see if you get lucky. I was trying in since a couple of weeks as well before it expired but now that I have it expired since a week. They took it as a good reason for me to get an appointment.

Update* Got a Infopass appointment for a I-551 stamp on 9/10/2020. Also my N400 has now dropped to “29 days” estimated wait time. Hoping this time the estimated wait time is correct. (Hopefully not the “taking longer than expected message”).

That's good. I had my infopass appointment yesterday and got a stamp for 1year from the date. I also have wait time drop to 8 days on my N-400. So fingers crossed this time I hear something good on that as well.
