Hi all,

We applied beginning of April and my wife just received her EAD/AP combo card yesterday which we were excited to receive after a long wait.... however there is one issue. There is a missing letter in her middle name - its not a glaring mistake, but it is a mistake, however everything else is correct. On her I-797 for her AP, her middle name is spelled correctly with all information correct, however on the I-797 for the I-765 employment authorization, there is the incorrect spelling.

We called USCIS last week when we received the I-797, and they stated that they fixed the error and that it wouldn't affect the card, however clearly that was wrong.

I am mainly posting this because we had international travel plans this coming month and dont want to wait another 5 months to receive an updated card from USCIS... would the missing letter in her middle name on her card put her at risk of getting denied parole into the US, or would she be okay considering the I-797 for her parole is correct? Thanks

It will affect her traveling because the name on her passport will be different from the name on the document that is permitting her to travel. Unless you get a replacement card, I suggest you don't risk it. You may want to go with the I-797 to prove the mistake was immigration's but you will be at the mercy of the officer you are talking to at the airport. If he/she isn't understanding, you're in a fix. Again, don't risk it.

Hello everyone!

I have a question to those who have their EAD expedited.. how long did you get a decision?

I requested last August 30 and I called earlier to follow up the status. I was told that it will take up to 30 days.. for the expedite decision? Is that really true? I'm on my 141 days since I filed I-765..

Hope to hear from you guys! Thank you :)

I also asked for expedition on the 30th Aug, makes me wonder if it'll add time to the strange order they work their cases in...

April 20th received date by the National Benefits Center with no news. Meanwhile, there are people who filed after that date who have gotten their EAD. What the hell is going on.

If you imagine there are a hundred caseworkers who each receive a batch of files (say, dating March through April), each caseworker operates at a different speed, so some will be much further in their workloads than others. The files are being completed chronologically as far as USCIS is concerned, but to us outsiders it appears random and unfair. It's sad and frustrating, but every job I've done of a similar type tends to organize their workload in this way.

Visajourney's stats on the processing date for employment authorization seems to take a midpoint across all users, so it's a good measure of where the average USCIS caseworker is at. It's currently showing April 15th.

Getting so frustrated and I think I’ve become addicted to refreshing the app/website. April 13th was my receive date (150 days) and my biometrics we’re on May 11th. STILL nothing other then simply case was recieved. :( So annoying when people who filed AFTER me are getting EADS/Interviews. Happy for everyone and best of luck but boy when will it be my turn loool! Hopefully this week is a week where all of us forgotten ones hear some news!!

You must be really really close. I was in the same exact boat by the end of last week. I got my approval on Friday evening at 5:00 pm. I applied on April 2nd. So you're looking at a week to 2 weeks at the most.  You're almost there.

Silly question but does anyone know how I can get my profile info on the left to show that I have filed for AOS (pending)? I've updated everything on my timeline but it still shows K1 visa. Really not important, but it's driving me crazy!

And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived."

Also...update: Just got a notification that the AP (I-131) case was approved! So seems like it's actually notifying of the EAD and AP being approved/processed. Woo-hoo!

Same here. PD is April 9 and biometrics was May 10. Everything is still at "case was received" like they received the packet and threw it to a side. Really frustrating.

Did yours just sit at "case was received" before they acted on it? Because that's what I don't get. At least others have a response on their I-485 applications, mine (like everything else), is just at case was received.
