In an e-mail I received from a "visa specialist" - email 212ewaiver@state.gov - I was instructed to use the address below. I saw somewhere that ideally we should include our case number on the outside of the envelope, but I didn't know this at the time so I didn't do it. I am hoping they did receive it. In any case, it seems to me that all the addresses we've listed are basically the same address.

Good luck everybody (and keep sending your updates ;) )

U.S. Department of State
Visa Office

Guys - has anyone needed to send back any documents? On their website, DOS mentions that the following address should be used (also where you're sending in your initial application):

Waiver Review Division
U.S. Department of State
CA/VO/DO/W
SA-17, 11th Floor
Washington, D.C. 20522-1711

Now, on their letter to me, they said I should send all correspondence to the following address (slightly different Visa Office), which is what I did:

Waiver Review Division
U.S. Department of State

VISA Office - CA/VO/L/W

SA-17, 11th Floor

600, 19th Street, N.W.

Washington, D.C. 20522-1711

I'm considering re-sending the envelope. Has anyone had to send anything back and if so, which address did you use?

Thanks!

There is also a fax that you can send stuff to. I don't remember the number.

The same P.Anderson signed on the delivery! That doesn't make me feel good!

Also - I included my DOS # everywhere the first time too!

I really just want to call them and ask what's going on! 1 month has paased and not there's not even an update on Documents Received?

Greetings,

I need some help. After a number of delays, DOS has finally issues a favorable recommendation showing as "Sent" with a date of August 14, 2018. I know I will receive this letter in the mail and my employer told me they need this letter in order to finish my H-1B application.

My employer also told me they will need the I-797 receipt from USCIS indicating that they have received the favorable recommendation from the DOS. How do I get that? Will I also receive that in the mail?

Thank you in advance for your help

I should also have mentioned that my J1 waiver is based on a no objection statement from my embassy,

Thank you

DoS sends the letter to USCIS and a copy to you at the same time. USCIS then sends a receipt notice (I-797c) with the number for the I-612 to the same address by mail. This goes all automatically. I got the receipt notice from USCIS approx 10 days after the recommendation letter but the times can vary.

Thanks for the update! Mine still doesn't show received

Hi Coco,

Do you have any more information about this? I haven't found this fax number and my information still hasn't been updated.

Many thanks,

Sorry, I don't have the number any more.

You might be able to find it on the web. I know they changed it at some point a few years ago, so try to get the most recent one. People doing the waiver have posted the number online. It might even be on this forum.

Hi Coco,

I was about to fax my paperwork again, when I came across this message on the J-1 Waiver website: "This office requests that all waiver related documents be submitted by mail using the above address, unless a waiver officer specifically requested that the documents be faxed."

Based on your experience, would you recommend faxing the documents anyway? Have you seen people doing this with good results?

Thanks again!

I faxed stuff and they added it. Attach a very short note at the top saying why you are sending them that. Include your name, case number, type of waiver.
