Thank you my friend! 🙏 Their response was very fast. I feel so relieved now 😌

Do you know what is the “valid since” date on the EAD/AP card? Is it the day it was approved or another date? Also, well, I guess I will check on the search bar about how to get a SSN and all of that FINALLY. thanks again :D

Mine is valid for a year starting from the date I got the e-notification (card in production). Hopefully we'll get our interviews and green cards in a few months and none of that will be an issue!

Timeline

Long time lurker, first time poster, sorry for any mistakes.

Day 191 of waiting for my EAD and AP after applying for marriage-based green card in August 2017. Timeline below. Basically, after setting the biometrics appointment in September 2017, the USCIS has been completely silent - no cards, no response to any service requests in person or online, nothing. I feel like I don't exist and I've slipped into depression and anxiety.

Applied - August 29, 2017

Biometrics appointment - September 29, 2017

Online service request - January 24, 2018 (no response)

InfoPass appointment - February 28, 2018 (only information was that my application is in the system and in process); officer raised expedited service request with target date March 5 (no answer)

I have an offer letter for a great opportunity, and am desperate to take it so trying everything to get the process moving. Wrote to our Congressman last night and our lawyer is writing a letter to the Ombudsman as we speak. Anything else I can do?

You guys have been helping me cling to whatever sanity I have left and I really appreciate the support while we're going through this shared experience. Sending good vibes to everybody.

I'm sorry to hear that :( I also sent a follow up email to the Ombudsman with a lot of detail on how I met the expedite criteria set out by USCIS, and asked them to expedite looking at my case request. That might've helped.

Is there a big rush if you already have your EAD/AP? As long as we get GCs while our EAD/APs are still valid (so, within a year), I think it doesn't really matter.

Jeez, I'm sorry.

Which Congressperson did you contact? Someone else on VJ contacted their local rep AND their senator... I only contacted my Senator. You could try someone else? Some people have easier ways of filing requests (all online) so you could look for that too...

I did the local rep. I couldn't find the info for the senator. I sent an email to ombudsman and they sent back a generic answer about the 45 days wait.

So after I submitted the Ombudsman form online, I got a generic email from them with a case number. THEN I replied to THAT email saying my EAD/AP was really overdue and it was very urgent that I get it asap. They replied saying they'd share it with the analyst on my case (and they did contact USCIS within a couple days of my request).

Also, what state are you in? Someone here might have tips.
