Atti didn’t get the visa, He was missing 3 documents the consul said. Police certificate needed to be a particular one specifically for immigrants , which I had told him to get cause I had read that on VJ forum and he still got the the wrong one. Same thing for military record.  We also need to apply for a I-601 and an I-212 each $930. (I just checked processing times for those forms on uscis and it says 13-18 months) even though consul told Atti it would take like 3 months. 🤷‍♀️

I’m just depleted right now!

Oh love I’m so sorry. Hang in there, get those forms and keep putting one foot in front of the other. Sending hugs xxx

Oops didn’t see your reply there. No transcripts don’t need signature. Only return ☺️ 2nd page of 1040!

Whoops, didn't even think about that! completely missed it I guess, I didn't even know anything needed to be signed so I didn't think to get my partner to check?

Already had the documents sent, so guess I may have to scan and print for that signature which is a bother. But oh well! Will see how it goes!

This was something I'm pretty sure I overheard them ask another applicant about (I can't know for sure which doc they pointed to when they asked her, but I think it was the return), so I would bring the signed return just to be sure. But like I said, scanned signature is absolutely fine so you shouldn't have to print anything, just sign it, scan and send and you're good :)

Just wanted to post that my fiancé went for the medical and they made him go to another doctor to get his eyes checked (he wears glasses) and this put us back several days! Now we are just waiting around for his medical to get approved, after the eye doctor said he was fine, even though everything else is in order. It's really frustrating as we thought he would just go get the medical and then be able to forward the medical that day to get our interview. It's really ridiculous to have to go to another doctor for an eye check and they charged him $800 for a rudimentary, ridiculously outdated medical check (the doctor had him stand across the room and she whispered words he had to try to make out just to check his hearing, is this 1950? what kind of medical check is this?) I'm embarrassed he has to go through this just to marry me! The US embassies should seriously vet their doctors better in other countries. Frustrated to say the least.....but thought others might benefit from the experience. If you aren't 20/20 bring your eye prescriptions!

~~~ I’m copying this text from the September thread ~~~
This day has come! Yesterday we reached 9 months mark since our engagement, and today our little baby approval was born!
The officer was very nice, he asked me how we met, where my fiancée lives, if our first meeting is the only one, and if we have a wedding date! That was all, “your visa is approved, you’ll receive your passport within a week”. I can’t belive this waiting is over. Tomorrow my fiancée comes to see me in Russia, and I’m beyond happy.
Thanks a lot to all the people on this forum, I’ve never gotten so much support as I got here! I hope those who don’t have their approval yet will get it ASAP!
CONGRATULATIONS!! :jest: When will you be POEing? You must be so excited! What will you bring over do you think?
Thank youuuu! I’m going to have my POE on June 17-20, there’s some stuff to do at home before I leave.
I hope I have not too much stuff to bring over with me xD my fiancée is gonna take some of my clothes on her way back. Have you started packing or it’s too early? :)
